I really wish he would have just said he loved her, even if it was to her retreating form like this. I LOVE that he goes to see her one last time. THAT is true love. She is his soulmate and although he may move on and marry that River, he will NEVER forget his Rose. This story was beautiful.

As much as I dislike the term "soul mates", I have to agree with you. Those two were meant for each other. What a sweet/sad story this is. Very well done, even though it breaks me into pieces reading it.
