You did come up with a reason of sorts for Peter Pettigrew's betrayal, so that's a plus. Learning about Severus's difficult life awakened James's conscience and brought out his better nature. That's another plus. I liked several of the plot points and can imagine they could be developed into a good longer story. The one thing I couldn't stomach was Lily's raping James and everyone's reaction, which amounted to, "Poor lovesick thing!" Bull. Yes, her child deserved protection, but in any sane culture Lily herself would be considered a criminal.
