This is amazing, I'm going crazy with all the Jimel and Ked fluff going on. I'm currently reading Magic at Her Finger tips. I was wondering if there was others give about this story that I'm missing.

Oh, Scott! First of all Scott is bae.

And second of all, you delight in putting him into terrible and awkward situations.

And not his fault. He was invited to dinner and ked is just inside making out, she hasn't even gotten out of her school clothes enough.

And he's just done, so out of there, ready to get a pizza.

(OMG WHYWHWYWWHHWHWHWHY WAS IT BECAUSE HE WAS THINKING ABOUT MACKKKKKKKKKKKK OMG HEADCANON I ACCEPT HE WAS DEPRESSED AND THINKING ABOUT HER AND DAMN IT'S WAYYYYYYY TOO EARLY FOR THAT AND NOW I'M DISAPPOINTED) and he didn't see that Ned wasn't coming. Zero forethought, used the key, Katie would be work and holy efffffffffffffffffff they're naked on the dining room table. (Let me guess he never ate at their house again). Ned is covering her and omg this is so painful for all involved.

And just get the fuck out, Scott. Seriously.

And now it's Asher's fault. Not above blaming him, lol. Scott's been running around after him all day and I don't blame him for being tired, kids are both beautiful and awful and anyone would be exhausted after a day with them.

And he can't knock. That's his problem. And thank god Asher was short enough that he couldn't see.

And why can't they use the bedroom omg omg omg you're evil Mariah.

Must be time to see a movie and eat candy...omg, he's never going back there.

Ah hell. Two kids to look after the way that Ked is going.

I love this Ked best. Where they're partners and at ease with each other. When life is easy but life is never easy...it's just easier, lol. And they're calm and take things slowly and Katie wakes at the slightest sound like her mother but ends up with her head under her pillow like her dad. I love the way the different traits show in different kids.

And Katie wants to be there for her kids...love her kids...see them, watch them, take care of them. And she's not going to let Ned be late on his first day back at work. Awww.

And she's just reconsidering this whole teaching thing and it makes sense, and it's awesome.

OOOh NED. Very naked. And Katie is like, whoa, don't walk around like that, both kids are walking. LOL.

And Katie is tense and I wonder why, lol. He's going to help her relax. And slowly edging his fingers lower down her back because he's hot AF and he knows that she wants it...

And they hadn't even had sex the night before and is Katie regretting that and neither of them are wearing clothes...why not take advantage of this perfect opportunity?

Asher, aww. Even at nine trips to the park can totally knock him out. But then again, my favorite nine year old...he's exactly the same, could sleep through anything...does, lol.

And his hands are going even farther down and trying to convince Katie to drop the kids at her mom's. I wonder what he wants, lol.

He has work. And she has a very nice ass. So what does work even mean, lol. In the face of that...with the fact that Ned just wants to admire her...yeah, work doesn't mean much.

And she's not quite ready for him but he'll make up for it. And I like that, kind of. That he couldn't wait but he still won't just force it.

And he's seriously getting her there. Ahhh.

And then he just stops. I love that too. Ned being a tease is always kind of hilarious.

And Katie is going to tease back because if he loves her ass...anyway. *cough*

And they both just...approve of each other. And Katie definitely approves and Ned approves that she approves and he so makes the cut, all day, every day.

And still going to be late. LOL! Taking advantage of LeTrai yet again :P

Aww. Lana's growing up and allllllll of her female family is in her room, or darn near it, lol.

Emma is obsessed with music all day everyday. That's cute.

Ooh, the blue dress. I like it. :)

And I love everything you told about the kids' individual gifts, and how they ebb and flow with each kid. Nice touch.

And Jim beats everyone to the door, far and away. And he's been down because of the news since she told him and that's hilarious. Even though Melinda comforted him. Well, she'll get him tonight, I have confidence.

Emma and Katie ribbing each other; that was cute, that even with the big age difference they still tease. That really is awesome. I love that.

Ooh, gosh, Jim doesn't like Lincoln. Since I've read the chapter I know that none of Jim's fears are unnecessary. Aww. He's so protective. I love Jim.

And Melinda's coming down too, just touching him to tell him that she's there too, and that's gorgeous. Aw. He even had a headache. That sucks.

Ugh, Lincoln. The Clancy girls seriously have the worst luck in first boyfriends and I hate it. At least they learn and don't repeat their mistakes. Mostly.

Aww. Love Katie warning Lincoln too. And she's going home and Jim kisses Willow hoping that she'll be better in the morning :) And Mel promising to take her for ice cream. What a good grandma she'd make. Awwwwwwww.

Ooh. A haunted house. Hmm. I don't think I'd like that for a first date. I like them, but I don't know. I feel like those are for later on. Further compounding that Lincoln is kind of an ass that he didn't even check with Lana that she'd be okay with that kind of thing.

Um, Linc, you're going to end up being neither knight nor superhero so shut the eff up.

And the Ned thing. Ned just being nice because Lana is legit his sister now and Lana talking to him too and Linc is getting jealous of him. Dude. Shut your effing mouth. They're, like, siblings. Drop dead.

It's just how quickly he went from being nice and eager to serve, from acting like an ass because she said no. Even though she didn't say no to all of it. He was just trying to take more. Oh god. And yet some guys are actually like that. I hate it.

At least he left her there instead of pushing her more.

And at least Lana had her phone to call Mel. I kind of wish that Jim had come too, that it hadn't been a secret from him; that Mel had told him before she left.

I love that Melinda said something Lana wasn't expecting. That she didn't say that sex early on was bad because "One time I met a guy and we barely talked before we had sex and now I have thirty seven years of marriage and five kids with him" and I love what a huge surprise that was to Lana.

And her wish on the star. A very nice wish.

Awwwwwwwww, Melinda coming back and admiring how ridiculous Jim is when he sleeps. How he cuddles against her when she's there but the instant she went to the bathroom he sprawls onto his stomach, head tucked under his pillow. He's so cute when he does that. And wayyyyyyyy too sexy for his own good, I emphatically agree.

So she climbs on top of him after running her hands over her stomach. I did see this one coming, lol. Kissing Jim's shoulders until he wakes up. Gorgeous. That's a scene that should have been in the show. Almost is.

Why is she smiling so much? She has something to tell him :D Aw, I love this. His hands are stroking under her shirt and just feeling her. Big dramatic pause. Propping herself up on his chest to see his face.

And his eyes go wide and he immediately puts his hand on her face, reaching out, touching you, touching HER, (sorry, they played Sweet Caroline for the cake cutting last night and I've still got it in my head.) a child made with love and passion that they'll never lose and when are they telling Aaron and Katie, and oh god, he's so in love with Mel.

So enthusiastic, just kissing her all over. And thanking her. Awwwwwwwwww. Kissing each stretch mark. And she wants him to make love to her and he's ready, but she's even more ready and that was a really good moment, lol.

Her left leg around his waist. Her foot is tiny compared to him (but small anyway, lol) and he's kissing her ankle.

"here's to loving you forever." Kisses her stomach. "And you too." Melting now, I swear.

Katie writing in her notebook, Aaron is playing with superheroes.

And Jim's arms and hands around her waist. I can just imagine his arms around me like that and I seriously think I'd die of happiness.

And Mel's a bit worried about Aaron thinking he'll lose his place but Jim knows he'll be fine.

And Katie immediately knows what's up. Aw. Everything was so sweet. Glad to see Aaron pleased about it!

They will leave without us. LOL, Melinda, is that what she thinks? Of course, lol.

And she's just glaring at him, lol, looking extra hot and tempting. I just adore the thought of her in cutoffs. I wish JLH wore more denim, honestly.

Almost intentionally bending in front of him. Very nicely said. Looking good. Very good.

The first summer they were busy. But busy can be good too. That was a good way to illustrate what they've been up to.

Aaron's big blue eyes finagling them into letting him enroll in Little League, but at least Katie's dance classes don't start up again til October.

Aw, and Kannah's on the same team. What luck. And more lucky that no games have overlapped. #win

And Hannah's miserable homelife that you've only mentioned in passing before, just skirting around it. Would love to see more of this. We don't do enough Hannah, because she doesn't always fit into the MahF narrative.

And Aaron needs to be told which team to root for. Love it. Grabbing Mel for a momentary kiss that they both lose themselves in.

And rough teammates...and parents. Oi. Katie's wrist is broken, that's terrible. And the right wrist. Damn.

Love Jim taking care of it and it being Bobby who came. Oh, I love that Hannah went with her. Gorgeous.

Sometimes he misses being a paramedic...and sometimes he's just thankful for his life changes. Satisfied. Life is how it should be.

And next day he's exhausted and even Jim working there doesn't mean that Katie gets looked at.

And he's too tired to find her, and he brought roses, but there Katie and Aaron are. I love Aaron. He's so sweet and he always was, hugging Jimel after another heartbreak, and now looking after his sister so well. He has a doctor's heart, by far.

Aw, and Jim reassuring Mel that she's nothing like Laurel. Still must be tough sometimes though.

And he's 'helping' her with laundry just so he can lift her on top at the end, pull her close.

And I just feel like that's a scene straight out of the show. Jim coming home and just letting Mel being there slide over him, and following her around the house, them talking, sharing, and ending up embracing.

LOL, Mel's cooking has certainly improved if Jim wants to take credit for it now, lol.

Aaron gives Katie her medicine. So sweet to see how they took care of each other back then.

And nighttime. Jimel is talking but Jim...doesn't want to talk. And my goodness, things changed fast there and I loved it. She's missed him. Hells yeah.

Missing her gasps. I would too, lol. She's sexy when she's aroused. And he was promoted! No wonder he's in such a freaking fantastic mood, tired or not. And the roses. My heart :)

But he's been promoted and all he wants is to celebrate properly with Mel. That's who they are, definitely. His triumphs were hers; vice versa. And so many successful ghost hunts end up with them in bed together.

So proud of him. And proud of him for being a fast worker, too, lol. And it's time for his reward.

I like that he was still in control there. Was expecting Mel to take charge and it was sweet that there was no change there. Cute. A telling moment for them as a couple :)

Unravel. I've probably used that word too but it just jumped out at me at how perfect it is. He unravelled her. The knots and the worries of the day.

And built for each other. Yes. I feel that every married couple *should* feel like that. That they should have made love so many times that they've memorized each other, that it feels good and right.

And a very squeaky bed. Love it :)

The house is too quiet for her to be awake. Aw, he's so cute. So patient and exhausted, and he's too tired too, but it's *still* on his mind because that's just how Jimel operates.

And damn it, the image of him preparing that much just to give her massages...hells yes. And he's *always* just touching her on the show and so many massages in season 5 and this is just so true, lol.
And Jim just has to play with her for a minute, just feeling her. "I thought I was getting a massage." You are, Mel. Promise.
And he loves her stretch marks. Sigh. That's just *nice*. The cocoa butter. How Palmers smells like candy, I swear. Not that you said was Palmers, and it was in a jar so I doubt it.
Oh god, he's straddling her and he's way too close to her to be comfortable but he doesn't freaking care, he's going to concentrate on her right now.
That massage makes me really want one myself. Jim's hands would be incredible. And I need one, lol.
And Melinda can feel how hard he is, and is most definitely responding to it as much as he is responding to her.

I love that you concentrated on Melinda being in awe of Jim's body. I just read this annoying article about how women don't necessarily find their husband's bodies attractive in and of themselves, and how they only like what they can do. And eff no. I want and think I will love my nonexistent husband's body a lot more than just what it can do. The male body can be just as beautiful as the female body and not all women are only emotionally stimulated and it was a terrible article.
Not to mention that it's Jim and he's in better shape from running around the hospital, and his legs and pecs are more defined, and everything is better. And someone's missed her even more than Jim has.
He doesn't usually take care of frustrations like this but just this once...baby's sleeping. Shh. And Mel describing her day w/ Katie. And Mel wondering why he hasn't come yet.
He's so good to her.
And then Katie. Ooh, she's burning up and Mel's panicking and Jim is staying calm but maybe not as calm as she thinks, because that's just how Jim operates. And he's always been able to keep steady when it concerns his children. *thinks of ch 45*
And Mel is singing and Jim is takin' care of Katie and Mel is terrified that it's her fault and she took Katie outside for too long and just shhh, Mel. It happens to everyone. To the best of us.
Mommy cuddles the next day. So beautiful. And Jim is just exhausted. I hope he gets to sleep tonight :) because daddy and husband cuddles can wait.

Okay, this did cheer me up. Such a sweet, sexy chapter, and a very electric moment for lil Mack.

And Mack only spoke with Scott for thirty seconds but, regardless, they can't keep their eyes off of each other. Soon it'll be hands. Then lips. Ooh, I can't wait!

This is so freaking sweet. First off the beginning lines promise trouble because, even if Mack is the best behaved Clancy kid yet, silence still means bad news.

And then Mack is drawing on the wall and Melinda can't bring herself to be mad. And I awwwwwed so hard when Melinda joined in. That is so the right response in that moment. Art work is so therapeutic. Everyone should draw more. Every day.

Katie pretending to hate being at the store, lol, and Aaron just wanting to get it over with. Jim is surprised that Melinda let Mack finish her picture and even joined in.

And then everyone added to it. You should seriously do a follow up where Lana and Emma add some too. Maybe when Lana is younger and maybe when Emma is older. I don't know, lol. Make it a piece of history like the calendar in the last chapter.

And the little notes about Mack's terribly short hair. LOL, have you been seeing those new Applebees commercials about 2 entrees and an appetizer for $20 because then you can celebrate your daughter's first haircut? Because this is reminding me of that. But I love that you tagged it to that time period.

Jim is so cute. Panicked that Melinda's going to be mad because he knows that she's insecure, that she's still afraid he's not going to stay with her, that he'll find someone more beautiful. (That's pretty impossible, I agree. Maybe in some terms, maybe just physically, you could someone 'more' beautiful but the total package that *is* Melinda...no. Impossible.)

And he's going home, a nervous wreck, and immediately tells Melinda what's up. And she's excited and he has no idea why. She's making chili and I don't know if that was intentional or what, but I loved that for what it was. And Andrea's cute. She just is.

And now we move on, to them in the bedroom. Melinda undressing and Jim not really wanting to talk about it. LOL, the dark ages. And...yes, Melinda they *were* dark ages.

"For everyone to know that my fiance is both sexy and a hero? I find it very...arousing."

"How much?"

"Care for a demonstration?"

So Jim and I both just imploded. Just thought I'd put that out there. "Like he's going to need convincing after this." Oh my gosh. Just wow.

I love that he had to hold her on top for a minute because she was moving off, getting ready for their usual position, but he *asked* her to be on top (a place a women is more likely to climax during penetration) and I wonder if he knows that or if he just likes the view, but either way they both got some so it doesn't matter. (Though to be honest, sex in a bed doesn't happen that often either.) (Oh my gosh, I loved that line. So utterly Jimel.)

And she's just staying there, still on top of him, and he's begging her to move and she isn't and I love it. Oh my gosh. The images.

And she's into it, bending forward, and Jim really strikes gold and she falters and now she's talking, confessing, telling how hot she knows it'll be and begging him for some more. Begging him to do it. Telling him how she immediately wanted him to, was in awe of the fact that she held out this long to get some from him. And she really wants him to take control now and he does because he so can't hold out any longer.

And Jim's reaction to the unveiling made us blush so hard. How hot could it be if even he was in awe of himself? (BTW, Jim, you do, you are, you really really are that hot. Which I'm SURE that Melinda told you.)

I'm surprised that Katie didn't recognize him as Jim but maybe it was a rhetorical question. Ned's response, lol. The tiny tidbits and glimpse we got into their life after Jim passed...how life went on. How Macy was pregnant. It'll kill me but maybe you should do more when they're older. Deader.

And Katie is sad that he didn't say goodbye but then his hand is on her shoulder. Beautiful. Just beautiful.

I love the thought that Melinda writes in cursive, though of course she would. She'd have nice handwriting, I bet.

Poor sad Katie. Hate seeing this side of her. So much pain.

Melinda having to literally punch Jim awake and his reaction to that. I love it. I love the thought of him being a heavy sleeper if there's no legit emergency (read, Melinda's nightmares) and just sleeping on for forever.

He deserves that, after all. He probably always sleeps like the dead whenever he gets the chance.

Aw, and Mel hasn't been to the city since looking for an apartment with Hannah and Katie. I love the image of her apartment hunting for them, using up all of her stored experiences. What a life she must have had even before marrying Jim, canon and in here. I love it. Am seriously about to go off and write a series about a grandma who can speak to the dead and has crazy adventures.

She's had such a life. She and Jim.

I love Jim being...well, Jim. Being strong and *there* for Katie. Sitting on the couch. Melinda washing the dishes. That's such a mom thing to do, but a Melinda thing too, I think. She cares so much. She'd do dishes for them, of course she would.

Okay. Think I have a fair handle on the timeline now. I like the thought that it was the strength from this visit that let Katie punch Toby back. That's awesome.

Oh, lol, it was Melinda who bought all the pasta. Am dying of laughter now about how you worked that goofy thing of mine in.

The list. Melinda's list of affirmations. Something that everyone should have.

Aw, the image of Jim and Aaron bonding. That's so cute. And Melinda having a girls day with Gina and Mack and Katie. Sweet. I bet Katie had fun with that (tiny bit sarcastic considering what else is going on in Katie's life, lol). Ah. The first period. Such a turning point in life. Such a money drain.

And it was so cute to peek in on Matt and Gina again. Melinda had to have completely changed all these people in Grandview's lives. It's good to check in with them again. I liked this peek at them. Normal, haha. After they thought that normal was impossible.

And of course Matt and Jim just burst out laughing. Melinda and Gina are freaking out and their husbands can only laugh. Melinda's worrying that Mack's curls won't come back, LOL.

Oh my GOD, Melinda is having nightmares about him dying and Jim can barely coax her back to him, say that he's alright BECAUSE HE ISN'T, HE'S DYING.

And she dreamed and she knew it would happen soon and then he told her that it would happen soon. And they'll be together again. And they don't want to live without each other. And they can't live without each other. And this isn't supposed to happen IN THIS STORYLINE.

All good things come to an end.

The little ones asking if Grandpa will be okay. Damn it. DAMN IT. Him summoning up his last bits of strength to chase them around.

His last day. One last thing. Of course he wants to make love to her. *starts to cry again* WHY

Why weren't they having sex all along? Why did they wait six months? If you were going to KILL him why didn't they have sex all along for goodness sake?!

And she's impatient and loving and helping him along one last freaking time. And the clumsy kiss. I can just imagine that. Jim kissing her one last time, loving her one last time before he leaves her. Not forever, but long enough.

And they're together and there's silence.

And he's there by the window, breathing again, and she tells him to go. Because he needs to go. And it's beautiful and wonderful and Andrea was there waiting for him.

I swear to god, if you ever write a funeral I'm going to hunt you down.

Oh, Delia will never stop, will she? Yet she loves him and that's the important thing.

It was so sweet to see Ned surprising Katie. Such a simple thing, but it was pouring rain and even in the heat that could get cold fast, especially if she was dressed for hot weather.

I loved him telling her all about Grandview, how Lana is cuter than ever and all the deets on everyone else. Adorable. I love that he pays so much attention. He's already a member of the family. He always has been.

Love her taking him out to someplace he hadn't been before, saying she just wants to go anywhere. Her fingers on his arm, I love it.

He asked her to come home. My heart is melting now. I loved the way he put wanting to get a place together; he wants to be together every day. He needs freedom and he needs her free with him. I love that she's willing to transfer to Rockland. But it's not just about Ned either, because she obvi misses her fam too.

I love her making that blanket nest and Ned's dirty mind really really hoping for sex but not letting himself actually expect it. He's so cute when he's horny!

And Katie was even hornier. I love that about her. She's just ready to go, off like a shot. "You coming?" And she takes her shirt off and Ned is having a heartattack from how turned on she already was and he almost can't figure out why.

I loved that he stopped because he didn't have protection. And I hope Katie's coverage is a long term thing because ew to the pill. It totally pollutes the water supply too.

I love this. And yes, Jim will be very happy. LOL to Katie texting Melinda but of course she would.

Hannah was certainly feeling very vocal. I love how you actually had her write and say such a long speech. She was mentioning everything, but there was a method to her madness, LOL. "Love is a great unifier." "Our one universal truth." (Um. I thought Jim didn't die in this storyline so what did Hannah mean about 'only a few people know that story'?)

It was nice to see Hannah talking so much. We don't actually see much of her so it's sweet.

Aw, Jim dancing with his little shadow, letting her go be someone else's girl. That was so bittersweet. He's not losing her, by any means, but it has to be hard, even if, after all, he wouldn't let her marry someone he didn't approve of.

Definitely approve of the moment between Delia and Ned. After a point, in season 5, why is Delia still ragging on him, lol? He's obviously fine then and she just keeps on ragging.

Aaron, well, it was the bartender's fault. But that was a cute moment for him; it was a good idea to include it!

Oh, Ned, you've been dreaming that up for so long? A daughter he's always wanted? Aw, damn. Now LiaM hurts even more.
