Fantastic story. Morelli is an ass. Not even getting the timeout before doing the deed and on her birthday no less. Love the dinner between Ranger and Steph. Very much how I could see it happening.

I loved this as well! I can't wait to check out the rest of your work. One (hopefully constructive) note: the interaction between Ranger and Steph leading to the formation of their relationship and declarations of love seems a little hasty and rushed. I could see this coming about in an initial conversation about starting a relationship, I just think it may have been slightly more dragged out. Otherwise, fantastic.

Beautiful. Perfect. A perfect Stephanie Day with just how I could see Morelli screwing up...and on her birthday, no less. Then Ranger coming back home just in time to help her out, and actually being honest with her, declaring his love and that he wanted her forever. Excellent one-shot. Exceptional writing.
