Although this chapter seems too short for my liking, I believe it reflects any possible communication between the two about the matter at hand quite brilliantly! Darcy's well-behaved letter incl his doubts about his aunt's expected reaction, LdB's longish and insulting rant and finally Darcy's short and quipped answer basically telling her to go to hell. I don't think they would anything more to one another - game over! Therefore - bravo!

I enjoyed your story of letters greatly and l look forward to more from the other characters of Austen's book. However, I must take issue with Georgiana's letters, which were hardly true to canon:

"The joy which Miss Darcy expressed on receiving similar information, was as sincere as her brother's in sending it. Four sides of paper were insufficient to contain all her delight, and all her earnest desire of being loved by her sister."

Brilliant! I love their teasing and seeing the lighter side of them as brother and sister. Update soon!

Will Caroline be coming back to Netherfield after the letter? And what will she say? Please make Bingley's letter easier to read as "He leaves out half his words, and blots the rest." Or not. Just a joke. But I loved the way Darcy and Georgina interact. You made sound better than Austin. So... who is after Bingley?

It's a shame that Austen never found the time to go into further detail into the Darcy siblings' relationship. I am convinced that it's as full of affectionate teasing and fond respect as you've tried to portray. Actually, your Georgiana is probably a lot less effusive than Austen's Georgiana, especially because three pages was inadequate to express the latter's joy at her brother's engagement :-D.

Oh, sneaky William, leaving a vague reference in the last sentence of his first letter! Very cute! Yes, I'm sure they had an affectionate relationship and you captured it perfectly.

Epistolary works are such a weakness of mine! Looking forward to these letters.
