great story, great ending. I agree with your writing of Bill wanting Sookie to live his own twisted version of "normal"." what sucks is that she believed that it was indeed normal to settle down and have kids with a normal life. as if half the people she knows aren't supernatural and her kids were probably end up like her. the finale just frustrates me because the writers just fudged up the series and it just went downhill. thanks for this!

I know I say this a lot to you, but I just love how you write Eric. Such a proud man, but he saw it as an act of love and hope to go on his knees before her and lay out his heart to her. I loved how they could sprinkle some humor in to chase the last of the bitterness from their lives. I am sure there are challenges ahead for them, just the parenting of two telepathic kids would be daunting. But if they are a team they can make it. Despite not loving a vampire Sookie, I loved the confident way he said there would be no issue with her being turned. If they have the happy life that seems ahead for them now, then it makes perfect sense that she would love him enough not to leave him. You made your bitter story turn very sweet.

I guess I am less inclined to cut Sookie slack for her bitterness, she made a lot of really bad choices. She brought so much on herself and she never gave Eric the chances that she gave the other men in her life. I hope that is about to change.

He has a lot of very good reasons to feel so bitter. But I think it feels more like overwhelming sadness and loneliness, but maybe bitterness is an easier emotion for him to claim. I hope the new resolve he has at chapter's end will bring him some happiness. Hopefully Sookie is having some similar regrets over missed opportunities.
