Reviews for The Long Way Round
mrseljefino chapter 1 . 10/13/2017
I am re-reading this lovely story for the umpteenth time hoping you come back to finish it. I love how you write these characters.
bh chapter 6 . 10/11/2016
This is so good and positively lovely to read! I hope you continue!
Biichi-gi chapter 6 . 5/15/2016
Glad to stay the course with you.
This was, yet again, a sweet little bit 'twixt the lovers. I'm so glad you got there and I cannot believe so few others have done. Yes, old Jane did quite a job on Paul. Pity she didn't bite it as in the actual show:)
Can't wait for the r them to get together.
Biichi-gi chapter 1 . 5/14/2016
I'd have chosen a different wording for his removal downstairs; Paul is slim and fit and the sole problem would have been in the inflexibility and relative instability of the prosthetic which would have rendered his swift exit more halting and rather ungainly. I doubt it would have ever been called a lumbering gait. Picky, I know. Please forgive.
All the interaction between the two was superb, touching and in character. Sweet! You caught Sam's sweet and natural style and Paul's rather self consciously proper one. So far, perfect.
Parlanchina chapter 6 . 3/10/2016
Pure perfection. I never liked the way they took Milner's character in the later seasons - this makes much more sense. And I've had a bit of a thing about these two getting together, ever since the onion incident :) Bravo!
Gnome Ignominious chapter 6 . 2/27/2016
Love this story and especially love how you write Sam and Milner together. Hope you update soon :)
Guest chapter 6 . 11/7/2015
Been waiting for that iconic line since chapter 1. They suit each other so well.
KatieRose30 chapter 6 . 11/5/2015
This is why Paul and Sam should have gotten together. There was a compelling love story right there, and it was never used. Instead they were both paired up with people who are decidedly not fan favorites(and both characters were recast at one point). You have a rebellious vicar's daughter and a man who was at one point separated from his wife. It has an ingredients of forbidden love instead of those "safe" characters they were paired with.

I do like the twist with Jane still alive and her and Paul divorced. It gives Paul and Sam's romance a forbidden air because even if she wasn't a vicar's daughter, it would be scandalous for her to see a man who is divorced as it was extremely frowned upon.
AnneBronteRocks chapter 6 . 11/4/2015
Excellent. An honest airing of feelings on both sides. At last, the use of your tag line. And Sam taking charge as only she can do. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. I hope that will be soon, but don't worry - I'm patient!
mrseljefino chapter 6 . 11/3/2015
Welcome back! Another great chapter! Loving this story!
Rhonllor chapter 5 . 4/27/2015
What a lovely story. I like the way it veered from the show with Jane not dying. I can very much picture Sam and Milner in the scenes you've written. Thanks for posting and I look forward to future updates.
mrseljefino chapter 5 . 4/21/2015
So glad you're back! Can't wait for the next installment!
somandyjo chapter 5 . 4/21/2015
I had not heard of Doyle's war until I started reading this. I was alerted to it because I followed you after liking Superman so much. Now I can hardly wait to see an update. What a beautiful story!
AnneBronteRocks chapter 5 . 4/21/2015
Hurrah for Henrietta, the Voice of Reason and Sense. Carpe Diem, Sam!
OxfordKivrin chapter 5 . 4/21/2015
Hooray, a new chapter! Henrietta and Sam's conversations are delightful, and I particularly enjoy the hints at Henrietta's own story (whatever it is) both when she is putting it aside in order to help Sam clear her thoughts and when it spurs her to urge Sam to speak sooner rather than later.
