This was so well written and honestly should have been a part of the movie. Though I loved the happy ending, I wished the movie had more mourning scenes like this.

I love stories of this sort — it's hard to explain. This is the best one I've read so far. Two thumbs up!

This is the scene I felt was missing from the movie; Joaquin finding out about Manolo. I felt they skipped over that moment, as they did establish them as close. I loved the movie, but that was the one thing that was a downside. You done this very well, all in character and nothing too over the top. Well done

D; Oh, Jesus! I knew Joaquin was depressed about Manolo's death thanks from watching the movie and the novelization but my god! This is, this is such a tearjerker.

Knowing how the movie ends did not make this any easier to read. That was crazy sad and crazy brilliant at the same time.

I'm crying. Tears are literally pouring down my face. My goodness, this was a good fic! Do you think you can make a sequel of how they felt when Manolo returned from the Land of the Remembered? Because I feel like there would be a lot of emotions in a fic like that, which would make it soooo interesting to read.

This was beautiful to read. So heart breakingly beautiful. I love how youmade sure to incorporate Carlos in this since he was Manolo's father and also how you described what it must have looked like for Joaquin when he saw Manolo's dead body. Bravo!
