50 years from now you have few dosen musket that are handmade and all of them are different. None of them are usefull in battle, they are slow and have no accuracy to speak of but at least they are incredible expensive and blow up in your face more often than not.

You need machines to build better ie. more accurate machines. To do so you have to have exact measure, scales and so forth. Sharpes riffles would take generations.

This honestly is a good story with acceptable amount of humor and action. What I can't stand though is how easily vulnerable or even weak NotNedStark is. If you're not gonna give him special powers, you could've at least given him modern day martial arts skills or an imaginary university masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering to "invent" the simplest technologies to give him an advantage in a world full of overpowered bloodthirsty psychopaths. It is for this that I don't go any further. Good story though and you're a talented writer. Wishing you all the best

Maybe it's because I'm older now than when I first read a Song of Ice and Fire, but Arya comes of as a bratty psychopath. And this comes from someone who was not rather sympathetic of Sansa when I first read the series at least during the first book. But for real in Song of Ice and Fire Arya's transformation is tragic and you can't help but despair for what she's had to become to survive. Here the only thing I can't help but think is that much like they did with Sansa in the books, they have indulged Arya too much(When I read such novels I try to 'turn off' my modern sensibilities), she has always know what was expected of her, she was to marry for his families convinience probably to someone who she has never met, but because of their reaction to her usual shenanigans she has taken to asume that all their duties where merely suggestions rather than norms. And now she want to KILL HER SISTER, whatever her age I can't help but be disgusted of her.

What a marvellous re-read! What I really noticed this time, and found myself chuckling to, was the way you wrote the chapters from Mathis' POV - all that honour and chivalry and obsequious brown-nosing of Renly's allies! My god, it's as though they believed the sun shone out from his arse... wait a minute, they DID, didn't they, lol!

Can I say your Renly is the most in character Renly Baratheon I have ever read. But I feel really sorry for Loras and his nose, he doesn't deserve to lose it just for being a little arrogant. He would have grown out of it.
