When do you plan to post the next chapter?

Oh man! It's been 84 years! I keep seeing notifications for your updates but haven't really had the time re-read everything until now. This fic was one of my favorite Hoennshipping fics and I'm so glad that you're still writing it.

I'll have a more coherent review on your next one (reading it all at once was a lot) Just know that you're awesome and you're officially the reason why I still read fics on here :D keep up the great work!

I’ve been avoiding reading this out of guilt for not writing Titanium but now that I finally finished that cursed chapter I can read this with no guilt haha! (And so after this another two year hiatus?)

I like how the unique Hoenn situation - two teams rivalling each other - make it so it’s not just kids vs a team but team vs team and kids going adogirbb in the middle and you wrote that amazingly here.

That grunt trying to steal Brendans Pokemon and him bragging about knocking him out like excuse you. You threw down with a kid oooh real tough guy. Tabitha is doing Th e Evil has Standards here and even though that justifies nothing at least he has some standards. Don’t bring the team name down. But every organization has their idiots and bad ones and that nameless one, man.

Professor Cozmo and Sarah though, they were just being happy nerds and then jocks trying to be nerdy environmentalists come and bully them like excuse you. I think there was a high school musical song about people sticking to their stereotypical roles and I would love to sing it but it’s been so long since I watched HSM So I can’t even remember if that’s an actual song in there.

Demi you go girl. I’m scared for Tabitha recognizing May especially because his Pokemon did. Well, you know what they say - fight fire with fire. Let the environment extremists take out each other.

As for that nameless grunt I hope he gets foot fungus because how dare he hurt Brendan’s beautiful face (as I say this I’m hoping for the cliche of the romantic tension as A helps B clean wound a shipper can hope right?)

I quiet literally screeched when I saw that you updated and dropped everything else to read! This chapter did not disappoint so thank you so much for updating! Why do I have the feeling May hasn't seen the last of the blonde coordinator? Or of the swablu?

May's certainly grown bolder. She's come a long way.

This was another brilliant chapter.

Noah is a blessing. From opining on scents to shopping for collars to being embarrassed when Prof Birch sticks his arm down a random hole (pfft) to, of course, his sniggering when the subject of Brendan And May comes up makes everything ten times better. Brendan obviously has to pretend he doesn’t know his weirdo brother and friend, or the Hoenn Rangers, because that junk is embarrassing and he has dignity, thank you.

It was fun to see them play in the water (ha! So much fluff! I love it.) and to see Soren and Iris at odds. Yeah, better to spare Soren’s pride and diplomatically avoid being creamed lol.

Mr. Mime miming Brendan’s sullen demeanor was a cute touch, and it was interesting to see May panic about losing Soren’s pokéball. I loved the ending of the chapter—May, thoroughly undignified, warning the Trick Master not to cross her, and Brendan vouching for her with a smirk.

Oops, the random “s” in the previous review was supposed to be the word “priceless” but with spaces between each letter…I guess they don’t let you do that. Also! I forgot to say, kudos on how you described Archie’s oras outfit. I hate it, but you made it sound impressive instead of head-smashingly bad. (Though I did kinda want May to have one of her fashion fits, like she did with the Magma uniform and Brawly’s sandals haha.) I’m also curious about the chest scars May noticed…somehow I wouldn’t put it past him to wrestle with sharpedo lol. And hoo boy, did Brendan get lucky. If Archie had noticed the envelope was opened before he fled, they would have been in hot water, though at least the cops were on the way (…for what that’s worth, I guess).

On a bit of a random note, I’m not sure what to think of Captain Stern. He seemed completely clueless at first, not even knowing who Aqua was, but when he was taken hostage, he was apparently willing to give his life. I wonder what’s his stake in Devon and in what’s going on. Too bad we didn’t get to hear more details about his expedition…

ALRIGHT! Moving on. I love how realistic and relatable it is that May and Brendan fight. It’s not just a dramatic outburst followed by resolution; it’s simmering tension and resentment, and they both look to score points by bringing up related issues (May bringing up Brendan’s refusal to fight, Brendan bringing up May’s tendency to make enemies). The furiously ignoring each other is a Thing lol. It made me happy to see May go from being ashamed to being angry, since that felt natural and was a good point, and as always I love her dialogue. The fact that they don’t resolve their problems directly but instead open up to each other, affirming their friendship despite the fight, is terrific. I love how awkward it feels—May’s opening line, “Soo…watcha doing?” made me laugh and cringe a little because yep…been there. This is a precious scene and I’m holding it close.

I adore Professor Birch and Noah, and I love that Skipper is with Brendan’s brother! It’s all around so sweet, and I love the little nudge Birch gives May by telling her Brendan seems better than he has in ages.

Daamn, Briney has sass! And Demi evolved, yay! I love marills…so much cuter than azurill. And speaking of cute—“Yay! We don’t have to carry that heavy package anymore!” “WE?” s. Those two. Those two, those two, those two. I love’em. The tension between them before they entered the museum was excellent. I liked that May acknowledged (to herself at least) that she gets them into a lot of trouble and that’s not really fair to Brendan, and she chased the grunts partially just to get away from him. It was also great that Brendan finally came out and stared down the mamoswine in the room so to speak. Two years! Wow, I hadn’t fully registered just how long it’s been. His pokémon must be antsy after years of doing nothing but taking notes on wurmple or whatever. (And speaking of his team, Neptune’s suspicion of May was cute.)

My favorite moment of the encounter with Aqua was the moment when May looked to Brendan and realized *she* would have to be the one to get them out of this. Her dialogue this scene is fantastic in general; she really sounds her age and it’s painfully relatable. I also liked her uncertainty over how to do a double battle, and Soren’s hesitation to hide behind Ezra was a good character moment.

Oof, Brendan…his hesitation! The moment it took for him to step up and stand with May was so great. His sense of disconnectedness when Iris took down the opponent (with dragon rage I’m assuming?) really hammered in the impact of his breakdown on me.

I’ve mentioned before I think it’s a trainer battle that killed Sirius, but now I wonder if the battle was against the bug-specialist who tried to kidnap May. Sirius would have a weakness to bug-types after all…and it would make for an epic battle for the two of them to face that person haha

Of course Brendan was eager to see May make a fool of herself. After all, he’s gotta get through it SOMEHOW, and he’s not about to admit to being charmed by May’s enthusiasm and passion for battling! Also, I love Demi! So distractible, even by her own tail—*especially* by her own tail.

Brendan strikes again with another stellar piece of encouragement (“Don’t get beat up too much, Maple.”), and I continue to love Brawly. His intro phrase “surf’s up” was a nice touch, and I positively loved Machop kissing his own bicep lol! The battle was great, and Brawly’s comment “You wanna go surfing with the master this time, babe?” took the cake.

You know what, lockdown is also a great time to write reviews. I plunged headfirst into bnha six months ago and haven’t been able to countenance reading other fandoms, but y’know what, I’m ready to reread one of my favorite fics again.

Oh, poor May. She doesn’t notice when Brendan’s checking her out, and she jumps to the wrong conclusion when he’s just being a concerned friend. And she’s injured! I love pissy May. And I love the image of Brendan suffering a band-aid across his forehead for being scratched while hiding in a ditch—I’m sure he looks super cool and not stupid at all. Just like how he didn’t look stupid at all when Tessa dumped her water on his head…uh huh…not at all! Brendan should ignore Soren’s sniggering and focus on May who is definitely not laughing. Though *I’m* the only one laughing when Brendan goes and sticks his foot in his mouth—boy did that backfire lol! The two of them are so cute when May’s mad and Brendan’s too awkward to fix it. Especially because he’s moping over being an insufficient coach while they’re on the rocks. “I thought *I* was your coach” was my favorite line of the chapter!

Okay, beyond the otp, I love every single joke about Brawly. His shock at the burned burger and casually trying to cover it up, his pride at not burning the next one, and the way he says bro and babe all the time are top notch. I also loved Kyla’s incessant need to gossip and the way she cheerfully blew everything out of proportion with May and Brendan, *and* May and Brawly, AND May and Steven. Perfect.
