I love every moment here. Their interactions are rare in the original story yet your portrait of them feels just right. And the trio (either Goku or Gohan) parts are so funny!

So of all the "oldtimers" to have posted in my extended absence, I find this. :) I'm so happy!

I think that so far you've only had a few OOC-ish moments, but given these two men in particular, I'm not surprised. I've found that when two people are comfortable around each other (which Piccolo and Vegeta are, here), they tend to open up more, and you see a side of them revealed that never sees the light anywhere else. So would it really make it OOC, or is it just familiarity?

I like that you did make Piccolo "nicer". It's something that I don't think is touched upon much in fanfiction, or when it is, it's attributed to Gohan. Early on in Piccolo's life, yes, his behavioral changes are due to Gohan. Later, it's the fusion with Nail, and finally, it's his fusion with Kami that gives us the guy the kids all know and love. He's more mellow post-Kami, and I think you've caught that well.

What did surprise me is something that you pointed out yourself here that I never noticed (mostly because I try to ignore the whole Buu Saga) - that nobody ever called Vegeta out on allowing himself to be possessed. I had never really thought about it before. Honestly, though, who *would* say something to him? Not Goku. Not any of the humans, except Bulma. Maybe Gohan, maybe Piccolo. And of all people, I would expect Piccolo to understand Vegeta's reasons for doing what he did.

Piccolo and Vegeta certainly have a fun dynamic going on between the two of them, but I will admit that the part I enjoyed the most is Goku teleporting in and scaring the bejeesus out of Vegeta. :) And of course, the whole scene that followed was priceless!

Welcome back from retirement! It's a good comeback, and I'm looking forward to reading more from you if that's what you choose to do.

I think this is a great story. It puts conversations I've always thought would happen in specific scenes that fit very well with the characters overall. Anyways on your note of being willing to do scenes if people requested them, I was wondering if you could come up with anything for the Battle of Gods movie at the end where we see Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta standing in front of a lake near Bulam's party. Piccolo could have a conversation about te fight and the future or something (perhaps regarding Piccolo's training of Trunks?) before Goku walks up. Just a though.
