This is so adorable and made me like Near more than I ever have . I really enjoyed Matsuda's brief appearance, and the trust crawl between Light and Near was absolutely precious. I'm so glad to see this kind of character development in fanfiction. You're really good! Thank you!

Well done and wonderfully written! I was hanging on the edge of my seat after every chapter. The interactions between characters were well written, the motivations, the characterizations, all of them were reminiscent of when I first watched the anime when I was younger.

I really loved the mystery and how it unfolded and the core themes of success/predecessor, of morality, and the consequences of what happened only a few years prior. This is one of the more well written fan fictions of the fandom and I wish that there was more attention dedicated to this lovely fic. Not only was the mystery so...well for the lack of a better word, mysterious, but I can really buy into the fact that Near really needs Light to cooperate and how the SPK function with each other.

Anyway, I love this fic and I really hope that there is more to this "sequel" to the main series. Great job and have a nice day! :D

Such a perfect epilogue! Matsuda figuring it out was a nice touch-as was Near's blatant cheating with the tracker. And the ending, too... Second and Third. I really really enjoyed this fic, thank you so much.

Man, I really had no idea where this fic was going but I kind of love where it ended up. And that's saying something, because I'm usually one of those "next to no sympathy for Light" fans but this world you've created just feels so real! You've turned me around.
Also as depressing as many of these details are, I have to admit that the repeated gag of a parable being met with "I didn't know Roger was Jewish" made me laugh both times. Possibly because DN is the first fandom I've been in in a while without canon Jewish characters, so I was missing the opportunity-anyway, it's another one of those details that really fills out this verse.

I haven't used in years, but I saw this fic recommended on tumblr and literally made a new account just so I can leave a review. I am LOVING this fic so far. The perspectives of both Light and Near are so good, and I'm especially impressed with Light's because it's noticeably different than we get in canon (for obvious reasons) but still rings true! I'm also a fan of what we've seen of the mystery so far-it's got some of that cheesy Another Note-style clues but in a way that works. And gah, some of the little details just dropped here and there-the Death Note in the cell, Roger calling Light "Matt," the NAMES NEAR CHOOSES AS ALIASES-I just love the way you're rounding out the story and can't wait to keep reading.

I just figured out that the title of the story Noel can also be understood as 'No L'. Sheer genius.

I'm not a huge fan of Death Note nor am I a big fan of Near, but this story just blew me away!

The detail, the setup, the character development, the writing itself, and the mystery were all excellent. I especially loved your depiction of Near's autism, Light's internal conflict, and just generally how you added so believably to this established world.

Kudos to you! I'll definitely be checking out the sequel.

I got to say, this was riveting.

It filled my expectations of Near and Light partnering up. Not buddy buddy, but not disassociative either.

I like the fact that they're partners. We never see that here.

This was also a story where Near was painted in a positive light. I never understood why a lot of people don't like him.

Glad to see Near more humane than the apathetic robot people make him out to be. Even some backstory.

An unique read. And I can say that with confidence since I've never seen Near and Light working together civilly and without malice before. And it's just them two.

The SPK members also were fleshed out nicely. This was the ford story I read where Roger was an empathetic character. And nice. People depict him as neutral or negative. The task force got a nice cameo and Matsuda shows his intelligence. I adore when that happens.

Huh. I like the final three L declarations. I guess at this point, all three Ls really are now actual Ls. Nice touch. I will say though that as much as I enjoyed the story, I was kind of hoping for a three-way-rivalry, pitting Janus against Near against Kira, but I understand narratively speaking how the desired story development wouldn't have permitted that. Still, overall, a pretty well done story! I enjoyed it.
