Reviews for Fate:Stay Evangelion
sonic chapter 4 . 9/8/2019
Good Chapter.
OmegaUltima chapter 3 . 8/5/2019
Woah woah woah, hold up. I thought Gáe Bolg's whole thing was that it always hit the heart when invoked!
Guest chapter 3 . 7/27/2019
Curious choices here. If Gendo knows about Shirou's amnesia and his desire to become a hero, a bunch of his actions from prior chapters stop making sense. Why not explain to him that he could save people by piloting the EVA, instead of bringing out Rei? Why just write a 1 word letter saying 'come', when you know Shirou has 0 emotional connection to you, and has no reason to listen (seriously, it only works on Shinji b/c of the fact that Gendo's his father. It was incredibly lucky that Shirou didn't just ignore that dumb message).

Furthermore, it's very curious to have the holy grail war occur alongside the plot of evangelion. Firstly, the holy grail war lasts a few days, or few weeks, whereas Evangelion takes place for over a year. This means that the pacing will be bizarre, and either the holy grail war is stretched out, or a battle-hardened, overpowered Shirou (with a girlfriend) is going to be piloting 01. Plus, how would being in the war work with all the NERV crap he keeps having to do? And what is the benefit of this? You have to juggle two completely separate plots together, with completely different pacing. Unless you can make the war last longer or angels attack quicker, these plots are too separated to work together.

Why didn't the author just make the entire story be the plot of evangelion, with 14 year old Shirou (before the war) roped into the mess? Or why not make it so that post-war shirou now finds himself in this nonsense? It seems like this is an ambitious overreach. (I mean, how long would a story with both FSN and Evangelion plot be? At least a 100 chapters?)
Guest chapter 2 . 7/27/2019
Interesting, so Gendo doesn't even consider the idea that Shirou might have legitimate amnesia. If so, the decision to bring out Rei without a clear 'no' makes sense, since Shirou acting like he doesn't know Gendo is being perceived as a tacit rejection of Gendo as his father (which is one of the levers he used to manipulate Shinji, his desire for family/approval) and therefore a rejection to pilot. Plus, it fits into just how utterly dismissive of his son Gendo is. Of course he didn't bother to see if Shirou remembered anything or how his adoptive family changed him. He just assumed that Shirou would be a spineless wimp he believed him to be, so why bother waste time?
Guest chapter 1 . 7/27/2019
This is a fascinating idea for a crossover. The thing about crossing over into the universe of evangelion is that because the threats/dangers are so self contained within the world, it's hard for an outside force to affect it. AT fields make anything except a being capable of using and AT field useless against angels, and EVAs can't be piloted by anyone except people with connections to the things (mostly children of the mothers who got subsumed by the damn things). This means no matter how powerful your character from another universe is, they can't fight the angels without using EVAs, which they can't use due to incompatibility. So most cross-overs have to focus on the personalities of the characters that may replace one of the pilots, or be added onto the cast.

It's honestly quite brilliant to choose Shirou, a man who does not remember the past at all (which means he could be anyone), and a man whose mentality is so twisted towards saving others that it literally causes reality to bend (who knows what that does to synch level? would it be higher or lower than expected?). And if the author chooses to incorporate his powers, he could project asuka's knife (and give him better cqc skills), project the spear of longinus, or use UBW to isolate and destroy angels while within his EVA. Hell, structural analysis of angels would give him valuable information that could save him and the other pilots lives!

Too bad this seems to be a short, discontinued story, but the premise behind it is frankly solid.

Saber’s Rank-B Riding SkillEVA UnitWhat?
Noneofit chapter 4 . 12/22/2018
Section 2 would be all over this shit.

He was hiding in the woods with a friend in the middle of the mountains and just says he's ready to go and in seconds the dozens of people hanging just out of sight show up to take him back to NERV because Shinji is literally more important than most countries are and has an entire intelligence/security division stalking him and monitoring every aspect of his life.
gabe.d.clark.1997 chapter 1 . 12/3/2018
"So you've sent the letter?"
"Oh no, Shinji's been dead for a decade now."
"WHAT!?"
"I was just waiting on you to actually checkup and notice, and I'm not entirely surprised you didn't- are you _crying_ !?"
"YUI!"
Guest chapter 2 . 3/20/2018
0 out of 5 don't change timeline keep it the same and make Shirou adult.
thepkrmgc chapter 2 . 5/23/2017
itmight have been better to just have shirou get tangled up in the eva plotline instead of attempting to combine the two
thepkrmgc chapter 1 . 5/23/2017
its really sad that a professional killer like kiritsugu is such a better father than gendo
PrinceSheo chapter 7 . 5/17/2017
Is this going to be updated again?
Lashamore chapter 2 . 4/18/2017
This chapter was really funny. What's up with that Saturday morning super villain response to Shirou not getting in the robot?
ChaosRune chapter 3 . 12/30/2016
Yeah, Shirou having a nervous breakdown and the retelling of canon word for word is where I lost interest in the fic, but it was a nice start
Paxloria chapter 4 . 12/29/2016
This is a good chapter.
However...
There are a lot of errors:
~ It's not strange that Kotomine would lie about Kiritsugu's actions in the 4th War, But he straight out said that the Grail in the war is the TRUE Holy Grail of Legend, and that is not true. It is simply called that because its in the shape of a grail-like chalice and has enough power to create a mirecal. Its not actually "holy" nor does it have anything to do with any religion. Also, Rin didn't point out this error when it was said to Shirou.
~ There is no way that a civilian train would go right to NERV HQ. Other wise, why the car ride in the previous chapter?
~ If they got off the train, then they are in the train station, not in a hallway in Nerve HQ. You can't forget locations and travel, you know.
~ There were a lot of places where it was tough to tell who was saying what to whom.
~ Sakura's brother, not Servant Rider/Medus's brother.
~ At the end Misato called the kid "Shinji" instead of "Shirou"
