Reviews for Etxarren (RENEWED!)
Yubella chapter 35 . 2/3/2017
can you update please?
Dreamdancer82 chapter 35 . 11/5/2016
Well, after reading all 35 chapters of this story I think a few things have to be said. The idea is intruiging, the concept takes the idea behind noir and takes it a few steps farther than the series while remaining true to the characters of Kirika and Mireille.
And though I did not really like the character of Riki I could always feel with her and the other protagonists and understand why they reacted the way they did.
Also, the story really brings along various emotions, from dread and disgust to fear and determination.
However, that does not mean there would not be plenty of Action.
To make it short: This is a great story which everyone who liked Noir should read.
j.vincent chapter 34 . 9/3/2015
Awesome...exciting...well written...scenery is descriptive, diverse and colorful...characters maintain their unique traits and behavior throughout the story. This Noir story line is evolving well and it keeps my interest because the thread of the true Noir is present by recognizable traits for M and K, since this is a Noir sequel after all. I am also impressed with how the story is not stale by just creating fight scenes but presents new information and clues that casts light on how big the Soldats system is. So I patiently wait for more chapters. Thank you.

Oh hootie tootie...what did Mireille discover about Ciceilie? I really appreciate the steady improvement in writing clarity that has developed since you first began telling your Noir adventure. The principle characters are portrayed strong and decisive, like in the series, and your originals are delightful and presented with diverse traits for each that are never confusing for the reader to follow. The scenic backdrop is also visually clear and colorfully described. I must say that your story plot is ambitious and I am always looking forward to another well written chapter. Your clear writing style and your attention to details are a blessing to me as a reader, thank you for that. The bilingual dialogue is also a delightful character nuance for the Noir theme. We'll done. So next chapter please.

I've read parts of this a keep skipping sorry, But I have to say I HATE! Riki she is an annoying little bitch and part of the reason I keep skipping through chapters is so I can hopefully fine one where she gets shot to death.
I have never ever hated a OC as much as I do her, And I have seen some sick and fucked up OCs.
Anyway from what I have read the story is okay, I like how you make Kirika and Mireille.
j.vincent chapter 25 . 3/6/2015
This story is exciting and keeps a true personification of the Noir characters. I can fully visualize the scenery and the colorful city settings as the story evolves. The curiosity and discovery of the Soldat connection that is common to Murielle and Kirika is proving to be a well written story thread that is another exciting part of the two teenager's perilous adventure. The characters are throughly enjoyable and the plot is exciting as it unfolds. The writing style is not confusing or overworked. As for me I am ecstatic with the way the adventure is playing out with sweeping landscapes and colorful realistic ancient city scenes and the personality portrayals are so enjoyably realistic for each character. This is a very fun read. A hundred chapters or more is ok by me. Keep up the good work. You are a fine writer and thank you for your ongoing gift of this exciting story.
Guest chapter 24 . 3/6/2015
Wow. How beautiful the colorful streets and shops of Laguardia are described. I can so easily stroll through the ancient city in my mind's eye and enjoy the characters as more of the Noir adventure unfolds. And the Noir personalities are so true to the portrayal of them in the series. This is turning out to be my all time favorite read. Thank you thank you.
Guest chapter 21 . 2/5/2015
The reader exclaimed "Oh no...Murielle has a flesh wound, those are serious btw,and Kirika is unable to help her impulsive hothead companion". Well as for me I really am enjoying how this story is unfolding. The setting is scenic and well described and the characters are colorful and fun to follow through the plot. What a beautiful pictuesque setting for this story. As 'Etxerren' evolves I am always delighted to read each chapter as they arrive and as with everything you write I am never disappointed. You really have a talent for short stories. Never give up writing. I love the lake setting. Next stop...Laguardia?

Justice Tokidoki chapter 9 . 1/23/2015
And... training begins! Sweet. Heh, I really like the antagonistic banter between Riki and Mireille. It's humorous and showcases both characters well. It's very engaging, but also sad in a way too given that neither side really has a choice.

One main comment I want to make about structure is this; when changing perspectives you should put in a line break or something to show the change in scene. Right now there's nothing dividing it, so when the perspective changes from Riki to Asher it's a little awkward and breaks the flow of the chapter because you can't tell where their voices begin and end in a sense. Dividing their sections with a line break makes it easier to tell when we're moving on to a different character. The only time you don't have to do this is when the character is in the same scene or place, like how you switch between Mireille and Riki.

Justice Tokidoki chapter 8 . 1/23/2015
You've done it again. Really, you've just captured the spirit of the show and extended it, allowing for it to grow in its intrigue and brutality through a set of new eyes. It's been a great ride so far and I still have more to read. I was going to review sooner, but I couldn't stop reading. Once I got to this chapter though I had to say something, as it reflects a turning point in the lives of both Riki and Audriane.

First, I'll just outside the characterization, which is what stands out the most to me from this story (along with the other one I read). Kirika and Mireille are both in character. It's just great seeing how their relationship evolved, but the way they show affection towards one another has always been more subtle and quiet, just underneath the surface waiting to explode. But you get those moments just right, which makes the explosions more powerful when they finally come. When Kirika aims at Riki then threatens her whilst shedding tears, I couldn't help but think, "this is exactly right. She would react this way." It's both a beautiful and alarming show of how much she loves and cares for Mireille.

It really brought me back to the show and where their journey first began. I also thought Riki's behavior was bold in this chapter. Your OCs are consistent and grow along with the story, it's easy to see how Riki thinks and why she does what she does-which is, I'm the end, a desperate bid to regain control of her life. Same with Audriane, whose soft yet firm choices have shown both her and Riki to have the strength to face the future, even if they're still lost within the chaos of grief and chaos at the moment.

Despite not having a clear view on how everything will end, I love the parallels to the original series and seeing how the Soldats functions in the future. It's not like Noir's actions have erased their presence. This has always been a cat and mouse game at heart.

Great work so far. Your descriptions really add to the characters and the atmosphere of the story. It's been a very enjoyable read so far. Thanks for working to redo it and make it better than it was before.

j.vincent chapter 17 . 1/21/2015
Mystery and pictuesque it. It's developing nicely. I really enjoy your literary gift. Am watching for next chapters. :-)
j.vincent chapter 15 . 1/15/2015
This story keeps getting better and better. While this story has Noir evolving it is potraying the traits of the original characters in true form. Good job. Very imaginative storyline. You have again produced another well written facet to the Noir legend. I am looking forward to more chapters. Thank you.
