Agreed on the amazing source material. Anyhow, I don't think I'll look at caviar quite the same way again after your take on this.

Man, that is so messed up. They're just talking about Christmas parties and catching games on television and acting as if this is a Friday night at the office. Not them brainwashing and erasing a man's mind. Just... wow. Even in the film, you could tell that this part terrified Winter Soldier. When Pierce said "Prep him" his already fallen face twitched and his eyebrow fell. He tried to steal himself but he whimpered when the things closed around his head. Just ugh. Wonderfully written. Great job showcasing the horror and atrocity of these people.

This was such a chilling piece. I'm sure most of his handlers did have that sort of offhand, never giving a thought toward his humanity, casual attitude. The Asset is an expensive tool that needs proper handling but don't let the routine interrupt making Christmas plans, by any means. This wasn't an easy READ but very thought provoking as well as heartbreaking. Well done.
