Good job showing the mommy's boy complex that Mycroft has. His treatment of Sherlock explains so much about Sherlock's behavior with others if for seven years he thought he was stupid and never learned how to play well with others since there were no others.

Oh, god, this is wonderful! And it gives such an excellent, twisty explanation for Mycroft's relationship to Sherlock - one that could even include Sherlock's eventual resentment of that relationship, when he inevitably realizes why Mycroft thinks more highly of him. That's really sweet, and on a much milder level, I can understand that feeling. I've been surprised before at what people don't know. But for Mycroft, he's going to have to cope with the idea that no, the world isn't as clever as him. The world isn't even as clever as Sherlock.

What a terrible realization at such a young age...that you would forever be lonely. It would make him appreciate his brother all the more for it. Very nicely done.

Very good. I think your depiction of the family is quite accurate. And somewhat depressing, but that's to be expected, since the kids are both too smart for their own good. And this shows Mycroft IS lonely, whether he admits it or not.
