Reviews for Break Statement
HisLove chapter 35 . 4/9/2018
Thank you for giving me the words I couldn’t find on my own to explain my illness is real not an excuse and disappointment from my parent, in my case my mom, is her choice and burden not mine. I cannot thank you enough.
Lindalake chapter 23 . 12/16/2017
Damn, this story is really good! Great writing. I’m not bulimic, but a family member was. Your writing describes it very well. Most people can’t understand what it’s like to have an eating disorder. Just hopes this story has a happy ending
Guest chapter 11 . 9/11/2017
Only on chap 11 but am really excited to find a fic that has been written so beautifully and that actually feels...authentic.
Your writing is a treat and although the subject matter is very serious I am finding myself very involved in the main character and her inner workings.
I also love the explanations for things at the end.
I'm australian and have zilch knowledge about anything military especially American so it's making things make much more sense. Can't wait to see what's in store although my own personal battle with an eating disorder says that it's going to be a rough road.
Steffani Williams chapter 37 . 8/13/2017
This was beautiful. Thank you.
Bevey99 chapter 37 . 7/21/2017
Really good story. Thank you for writing.
Wish you would finish a couple of your ones.
Bells Masen Cullen chapter 37 . 7/3/2017
Wow, I have read the whole story in two days. I couldn't put it down. You have made me cry, laugh and fall in love with your words. It's been an amazing story.
The only thing I haven't understood is the duration of Bella's therapy. At one point you say she's been at CED three weeks, then you say two months have passed and when she finally "graduates" she writes in her journal that it's been 55 days.
But overall, I have loved your story.
I was wondering if you allow translations, because I'd love to translate the story into Spanish.
-Bells :)
midnitereader chapter 37 . 5/4/2017
Wow, I'm so glad someone rec'd this fic. It was eye opening, that's for sure. The struggles Bella faced just to make it through each day. She almost gave up Edward so she wouldn't burden him with her troubles. But I was saddened that she felt her life wasn't worth living and almost ended it. That seemed to be the step she needed to seek help. It was a long road but she made it through. It's too bad things like this aren't a quick fix. Even though she had medication she still needed lots of therapy to help her understand she was worth it. Thankfully she had lots of support from Edward. Most of his family was so supportive too once they understood what she was going through. Renee was there for her once Bella explained to her how she made her feel with her actions. It's too bad her father never came around. He would never understand that her disorders were more than just excuses and failures on her part. He would never understand that she suffered from an illness with a proper diagnosis.
Jaygm chapter 37 . 2/27/2017
What a journey this story was! It was so difficult to read there for awhile when Bella was so sick and her choices or lack of them were dragging her down so far. I loved Edward for loving her despite her illness and sticking by her like he did. That makes all the difference in the world sometimes. It is also wonderful that they got to have a child of their own. That in itself woke Bella up to the fact that she needed to be well so she could be a good mother. It gave her commitment to wellness. Love this story. Thank you.
Jaygm chapter 36 . 2/27/2017
Jake is never going to change, and it was quite nice to see Edward take him down, literally! Too bad she beat him to the proposal. His sounded like it was going to be pretty spectacular. But either way- they are engaged.
Jaygm chapter 35 . 2/27/2017
Both her parents are missing what she needs. I think perhaps the pressure that Charlie places on her to always be more is at the crux of her self image issues. The total lack of control those pressures have placed on her may have been what she channeled into her eating disorder. To never feel as if you can measure up- if a 95% isn't good enough because it should be 100%, well- that just goes to show that trying your hardest and doing your best is never going to be enough. How does one live up to something you can never achieve? You are always a disappointment. That is a harmful way to raise an emotionally healthy child. In fact, it can be an impossibility such as with Bella. How sad.
Jaygm chapter 34 . 2/27/2017
Well, it seems he is in for the duration. He truly understands what he is getting into, but sees the pluses so much more than the minuses. That is love.
Jaygm chapter 33 . 2/27/2017
She has some good things going in her life. It is too bad that Rosalie is so down on her. Bella was really sick. A chemical imbalance in the brain is just as much of a disease or illness as a bacterial or viral infection. The big thing is that Bella managed to get out of the down cycle and get help. Shame on Rosalie for not being more compassionate and forgiving.
Jaygm chapter 32 . 2/27/2017
She seems to be getting better. Maybe she should think of doing something else. Obviously, the high stress of her previous work was not helpful or healthy. She needs to stay away from that.
Jaygm chapter 31 . 2/27/2017
Well, this was a good chapter. It shows that Bella is determined to get better. She also knows that Edward is giving her his full support and love. This is a huge development. It was something she never ever had before- she was literally suffering in this on her own. Even her parents weren't there for her in the way that she needed them to be.
Jaygm chapter 30 . 2/27/2017
Oh man! I just didn't expect this! But it is good. It is all out in the open. She really needs help and to get well. Now she may be able to do so knowing that everything is in the open now.
