Reviews for The Bitter End
Ayatane Elemia chapter 1 . 6/10
When I found this story in a thread on /a/ I wasn't expecting something like this, is dark and explores some psychological issues a lot of people have but nobody wants to talk about, this is definitive a poweful story, an excellent written and will let you thinking about things you probably don't want to think about.
RadicalErin chapter 1 . 5/5
Holy crap that hits hard. I do wish you had broken it into chapters, though. My phone had trouble even scrolling, sometimes. :b

You know what? Fuck Akane.
Guest chapter 1 . 5/16/2019
""So you DO think that women are inferior!""

Yes. Yes they are. Both mentally and physically. And there's ample proof. It's called biology. Oh but wait according to feminists and their beta male lapdogs/wormy yes men biology is "sexist"

Fun fact: In feminism, Medusa (from the Perseus story) is used as the symbol of female rage and emotion. While in male groups like MGTOW Perseus is seen as the symbol of male rationality. And in the story Perseus kills Medusa. So male rationality defeats female emotion. This proves that men are superior over women. Patriarchy for the win.

BOOOOOMM BITCH!
MimiOracle chapter 1 . 12/15/2018
This story shows that everyone can be abused girls and boys. This story is a sad but true representation of society. Good job.
Pyromania101 chapter 1 . 7/18/2018
My negative opinion of "Ranma 1/2" was cemented long before I read this story. I find it to be a gem because of how fleshed-out the characters. However, I then took a look at the comments section, and what I found entertaining was all the mudslinging between Pata Hikari and the anonymous (and sometimes not anonymous) reviewers. I haven't spoken to him in a while, and at this point, I've given up on trying to be civil with him. I've come to realize there's no reasoning with a smug idiot like him. If you're reading this Hikari, come and bitch at me again. I dare you. At the end of the day, you're nothing more than a childish, pretentious, hypocritical narcissist who cowers behind the "It's played for laughs" argument, never mind the fact that some things just aren't funny. Does that sound "arrogant"? By what right would a petty narcissist like you presume to describe anyone as that? You don't have a proper understanding of fanfiction, let along GOOD fanfiction.

With that out of the way, back to the story itself: I do take issue with it trying to make Ukyo look good-IMO, she's just as bad as the other fiances, and keep in mind she takes advantage of another boy's crush on her to extort free labor from him. Aside from that, this is a great story. It shows the culmination of Akane's bad behavior going unchecked, but it still makes her human in that a part of her actually does regret what she does only for it to be squashed down by her petty self-righteousness, only to come back full-force when the consequences of her actions crash down on top of her.

So, overall, good story, and Pata Hikari, get a diaper change.
Axccel chapter 1 . 5/26/2018
Yeah, this is pretty much how I imagined the story going after the series ended. At least he died with someone who genuinely loved him.

I wonder if there are any stories about something like this ending and the Tendo girls (or everyone but Ranma) being dropped back in time. Back to the start. Bet they'd be a hell of a lot more appreciative of him.
Greensword101 chapter 1 . 4/14/2018
I heard of this fic through TV Tropes and admittably skimmed through this the first time reading, so the ending was spoiled for me somewhat. But reading through it more thoroughly allowed me to enjoy and understand the story much better, however tragic it was.

The line breaks need to be added. As for the characters listed, why is Nabiki listed as a main when it should be Akane and Ukyo? Just saying.

I didn't even realize you were posting this fic on this site to honor the late author in question. Thank you. Well written, well-researched with character interpretations that made sense for the most part (I just got into the Ranma series) and appreciated how the author actually tried EXPLAINING Akane's problems aside from saying she HAD them. I can't believe people suffer from that kind of condition in real life.

"Most women's groups *actively discourage* their attempted formation (support groups for abused husbands)"?! Man...I checked online to prove this and I guess things ARE changing for the better...I hope...

Overall, I'd give this an 8/10. Points taken off for descripted prose such as "the redhead" even when we know who the character is as well as Ukyo's saintly portrayal. But, I am letting it slide due to my belief she is just trying to be a better friend to Ranma instead of competing for him.

Thanks again for posting this old story to honor the original writer. May he rest in peace.
Zetage Palabragris chapter 1 . 3/16/2018
How curious to find again this fanfic after 20 years (oh my God, I feel so old). I remember reading it as a teenager who needed some texts to practice his English, a language I was just learning back then. A nice story (...if a darkfic can ever be 'nice') and one which fills me with nostalgia.

It's so good to have read it again after so long.
Hi everyone chapter 1 . 2/27/2018
Got to disagree with Pata Hakari, showing abuse for drama just makes the story more interesting.

Slapstick for comdey just gets olds so quicky.
Talonsen chapter 1 . 1/4/2018
Fuck man… great story. I glad to read the time not the only person who thinks a RanmaxAkane marriage would only end in tragedy. Seriously, though not as obvious as some of the other members of the NWC *COUGH*Kunos*COUGH* Akane is seriously unbalanced with how she tends to shift between moods, lash out with spontaneous violence, and falls into delusions (just read the one issue where it shows her view of Ranma and herself via a dream).
