I first picked this up back in...2016, I think? And loved it. You took two of my favorite people from the Halo universe and gave them far better than I felt they were getting from official canon. Your characterizations were - and are - on point, your writing evocative, and the relationship just what I was looking for: touching, believable, developing organically without being rushed. I smiled, I nodded, I laughed, I grinned silly grins as Cortana and John orbited in towards one another. I read avidly, but the next year I sort of fell off of - IRL issues pulling me away from all the fandoms I was part of.

I only got back recently, and when I dusted off my account, I was pleasantly shocked to find this story had begun updating again - and was not only updating, but resolving. I struggle even to finish one-shots, so please accept my admiration and gratitude for bringing this cycle of over 200,000(!) words to a satisfying close. I hope you're happy with your effort, and that it brought you joy and insight, as it has certainly done for me!

Thank-you so much for writing this - I'm currently re-reading from the beginning, and looking over projects I'd long abandoned, remembering how fun they were. Interesting first chapter

This story can also be called "When A Mannnnnnnnm Loveeeeeessss a Wommmaaannnnn!" Lol seriously though man excellent story. This last chapter was awesome because Cortana was literally the piece of Humanity that John always wanted and needed.

You are doing such a fabulous job with this story. Everyone is in character. I wish this was the Halo 5 story somewhat to be honest.

I remember first reading this story when it had about 8 chapters total. I remember feeling the emotions pouring onto the page when you successfully predicted several things about the events both before and during Halo 5.

And now it's over.

To call it a hell of a ride is an understatement. The last few chapters have been pretty confusing honestly. Maybe if I read this again top to bottom it'll make more sense.

But I love this story. Some of the fluffy elements had me squeeing, and while I'm sad that is mostly done and dusted, I'm also glad I read it. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any extra snippets. It's a pity you've already stated Blue Team don't find him again, cause I would love to see their reactions to Cortana being back and his son.

Maybe we can get Lasky and Palmer finding out instead? It would be utterly hilarious.
