This was such an emotional fic! I feel like this would have been an important and emotional day for both of them and I'm kinda sad the show didn't bring it up but I'm glad you wrote this! Their emotions and conversation were completely in character. It was also a great version/reason why they first said "I love you". Finally, "You don't exactly forget the day you thought was going to be your last" is one of my favorite sentences I think I have ever read.

Really loved this. I loved Spoils of War; it was an incredible episode for all of them. And I'm really glad I stumbled upon this today, because I needed something comforting to read after last night's finale left me feeling like I'd been hit by a train.
