I honestly have immense respect for you for coming out to you friends and family, and I'm at least glad that the Korrasami ending has had a good impact for people who were still in the closet. However, as much as I enjoy them as a couple, I felt like the relationship between Korra and Asami was kind of sporadic. And yes, I'm aware that the comics will be a further expansion on their relationship, which I'm happy with. But that is still expanded material where the relationship will likely be more of a background element, much like Kataang for the Last Airbender comics.

Personally, I think Steven Universe handled the idea of a gay relationship better, as that is a huge aspect for several characters in the show, namely Ruby and Sapphire due to their experiences. To be clear, I'm not trying to undermine your personal experience with coming out (keep in mind that this is coming from an adult straight man), I'm just saying that I personally feel that there are other shows that handled this better.

Then again, there have been quite the abundance of LGBTQ themes and characters in children's media lately, so who am I to judge?
