This is fantastic. I love regulus and Sirius fics, they warm my heart and this is no different. I love your characterisation here, and the strained but still there relationship between the boys.

I have to be honest and say that I read this three times before bringing myself to review because I was always left without words.

I just love everything about this. I love that Regulus was more eloquent and honest than Sirius, and in a way, smarter (because that's my headcanon) and it was Sirius the one who had issues opening up. It's Sirius the one who's really at a loss, and I very much enjoy the fact that he sounds almost naive - in fact, they both sound a bit naive. Which suits well. Because they're young and they're supposed to be a bit innocent thus far.

I love how they believe they're not supposed to care for each other yet they obviously do. The fact that you showed them in a particular situation then reversed the roles works really well - one does really get to compare the two brothers. AND THE END. It just killed me that Sirius understood that there was no way back. The fearsyou portray here feel very real, too, and they brought the story to life.

Idk I feel as if I really know these two based on this, and I'm fangirling harder than you can tell, and just thanks so so so much for this! It was gorgeous! :)

I love Sirius/Regulus brotherly bonding stuff, because this is wonderful. Sirius coming to see Regulus after Regulus had done the same for him is great, and I also appreciate the fact that they didn't somehow manage to patch everything up. They couldn't at this point, I don't think. But I love how you show that they still care about each other, that they're still brothers, even throughout everything else happening.

I love the sibling dynamics in the HP universe, and Sirius/Regulus is one of my absolute favourites, especially since they're such a poignant platonic relationship. Both walking separate paths but always there for each other and so on, and so forth.

The bit about them having to say goodbye is such really sad . . . but poignant all the same and I overall, really enjoyed this story.

This was heartbreaking. I just love the relationship between them, so full of love and tension. It's wonderfully done. I just wanted for them to hug, and just realize how much they mean to each other. It's even worse because we know what happened to both of them, and it just makes everything sadder.
You did a wonderful job in making me feel all those emotions between the brothers. Great job.

Wonderfully written. I love what you've done with this scene. The love these two brothers have for one another, despite all that has torn them apart. The tension between them with the growing wedge was well balanced with the fact that they are still siblings and that despite all the differences they do still love each other. I love scenes that work with these two boys. And you did an amazing job of creating this relationship.

This was wonderfully written. How the two brothers even though they weren't close anymore, they still loved each other. Because it was everything else that drove the wedge in between them. The different houses, their family, their friends. Not each other.

I love reading stories about these two brothers who became divided by their family's views. I think you painted their differences well, and that, though they've grown apart, a part of them still cares for the other, even if they shouldn't. They might hate each other but they don't want the other dead. It's interesting that they both visit after Quidditch incidents, and one happens before Sirius leaves and the other after. Good job. I like how, right from the onset, you build the tension between the brothers, especially with Sirius' mindset that them growing apart was somewhat normal.

The scene between them is so beautiful and heartbreaking! Regulus is making one last attempt to reach out to him and Sirius knows that he can't walk that path with his brother.

Oh, I love that the last scene is the reverse, where Sirius needs to go check on his brother as well. I love that they still have a bond, whether they admit it or not, and that they still do care for each other.

That last line was brilliant.

For a moment, I felt like I clicked on another author's link. This story reads so differently from the other two. It's not light and sweet. It's about the convulted relationship between Sirius and Reg. Their teenage confusion, idealism, ego, arrogance... It sounds so real! And it really pulls you in the story. At some point, I wanted to shake both of them, to make them snap out of their pretty idealist world but we both know it never happens. Sirius will remain the rebel Gryffindor and Reg the pureblood Slytherin. The small hesitations, the half-lies... just like a real goodbye. I was greatly touched by this story. An amazing read.

This was great - they're such interesting characters, individually but also together, as brothers. I love the way you described their relationship and I love this fic, though it does break my heart a little bit. The third last line was lovely, where Sirius doesn't know what to say.

I really liked this look at the two brothers, and how they’re at this awkward point in their lives where they want to say goodbye and move on because they’re so divided and on different sides, but neither really can because they’re brothers and it’s hard to stop caring about someone. I think you captured that feeling really well.

Wow, I love what you did with Regulus and Sirius. I don't think I've ever read a fic that portrays them like this, but I love your perception in describing their relationship. Both of them stayed true to themselves while still caring about the other, and I did get the feeling "scared" from your fic so go Captain! :) The only thing is that I would've liked to see a tiny bit more about their past, just to compare the bond they had back then to their separation now. I feel like bringing up just a snippet of past memories might allow their concern for each other to feel more significant. But what you have now is still AMAZING and I'm going to go search for more Reg/Sirius brother fics now LOL.
