I liked the first plot a tad bit better

I thought you were doing pretty well with the other version, but I can see why you changed it. And without Lily there to keep James in check, and the constant reminders of her death every time he looks at him, Harry being abandoned by James makes a bit more sense. Keep up the good work! :)

I got here from your old story, which wasn't too bad.
I'd like to say that it's made an improvement, but I can't until you add another few chapters.
By the way- you're doing great, so you can continue the baby steps until you can break put in a free run.

More angst than the original but not better at all. A WBWL story without Lily is not a good story. You embarked on a plot worse than your original.

Why would Voldemort check for a pulse? The killing curse NEVER FAILS! He has no reason to suspect that the muggle might not be dead after being hit by the curse. If Voldemort felt the need to check that a muggle was really dead, then why didn't he do the same for the witch he just AK'd?
If Ben isn't 'marked', how can he be mistaken for the BWL? After all, Dumbles is dead set on following the prophecy, so he would not mistake the unmarked child for the marked one.

If the horcrux is made why the piece of soul have to go to Harry front, why not in other place?
