Beautiful.

Cute and sweet down to the core. Such a sad-ish family.
96 Hubbles chapter 1 . 6/3/2015
I liked this. It was insightful and well-written. I agree with a previous reviewer that William Reid was perhaps a coward, but it precisely because of this that these thoughts are so believable. We can't all be the person we want to be, or the person we know we should be, and spending years knowing how our lack of courage is the reason the people we love are hurting is exactly what leads to a lifetime of regrets. I think William Reid likely did more harm to his son than either has realized, but that doesn't mean he originally intended to be cruel; you remind us that sometimes the "villain" is a more pitiable figure: a man who wanted to be good, but was simply too weak to follow through.
molliebutler chapter 1 . 6/3/2015
This was incredibly sad and moving. I felt sorry for William, when Spencer thought he'd killed that boy, his life was so small and lonely because he knew he'd made the biggest mistake of his life leaving them. Maybe he would have stepped in if he knew how miserable Spencer's life had become, maybe not... I don't know. It seems like Spencer hid the bullying from his childhood from everyone for years.

I guess we all interpret the show differently... I just want to say your piece of writing moved me and I felt like you needed a positive comment on how well this was written... I kind of agree, William Reid was a coward, but he still loved his son and tried to protect him. Hence never saying anything about Diana's involvement in that child killers murder... He didn't want Spencer to think badly of her... Maybe I'm wrong, like I said different interpretations for different people.
tannerose5 chapter 1 . 6/2/2015
William Reid was/is a coward. Sure he got to watch his son grew, a son he abandoned and allowed to be bullied mercilessly throughout his life.
