Also Ness connected how Ninten is treating Lucas to how Lucas is treated them really warms my heart- it feels like, despite the shit Lucas went through, his empathetic and loving self is still there? He's just a sweetie pie trying to protect these two kids who are older than him and I love him-

Would there ever be a situation in which Ness and Ninten see how Lucas was before this all happened? Like, a pre-dead Hinawa Lucas that doesnt hold back his emotions so much and isnt so apathetic?

lucas's power stems from his capacity for love. the more you love the more you hurt. and at the end of his story his world was basically destroyed. what does he have left to save? you can't kill a corpse. but then ness and ninten don't know that do they?
