Reviews for The Wake
TheMamaBear chapter 8 . 11/28/2017
This was really well done! And oddly therapeutic.
Ioialoha chapter 8 . 10/31/2016
That was excellent! Poor Lionel, working the numbers all alone. I'm not crying! I just have dust in my eyes...
Prince Pondincherry chapter 7 . 6/28/2016
Yay, a story where Claire didn't end up evil forever! (Or at least it seems that way.) Too bad it means everyone had to be killed off.
Prince Pondincherry chapter 6 . 6/28/2016
I hope this doesn't somehow end with Samaritan killing everyone we care about, but I'm not really sure how it wouldn't. And that last line...ouch, right in the feels.
JohnGilbertVampirehunter chapter 1 . 5/2/2016
I hope if they do kill them Reese goes first because he has suffered so much. Finch lost Nathan and left his fiancee but Reese lost two great loves (and goodness knows what he went through while he was with Special Forces) so I don't want to see him lose Finch.
JohnGilbertVampirehunter chapter 5 . 5/2/2016
Oh please do a story with Jem.
Lady Sundiver chapter 8 . 4/17/2016
I suspect this is a far better send off than what the show runners have planned. Nice to know Bear has a home and Lionel is still around.

Thank you for an intelligent and respectful end to Team Machine's story.
SailorChronos1 chapter 8 . 4/8/2016
Thank you for writing such a wonderful and yet bittersweet story. It makes perfect sense given that all of Team Machine were aware that most likely their mission would end with them being dead, and those whom they saved would never know until after the fact. We shall see what Season 5 has in store, and hope that none of our beloved characters meet this fate.
blacktop chapter 8 . 4/8/2016
Your way of capturing the varied textures of the voices as they tell their stories is wonderful. Thank you for sharing this touching account. I really enjoyed it.
Once Upon a Femmeslash chapter 8 . 4/7/2016
This is an amazing story. Thank you for writing this, it's incredible. You'd think you'd hate a story that starts off with all your favorite characters dead, but with this show it fits. John and Finch, and Shaw and Root, they never really had hopes of retirement. The whole show, they've accepted the risks and are determined to keep helping people as long as they possibly can. This fic really seems to capture that vibe. It's a beautiful sort of closure.
Arekanderu chapter 8 . 4/6/2016
This was truly beautiful. And I really thank you for giving Bear a home too. I love you for writing this story
Phoenix615 chapter 8 . 4/6/2016
This is an sadly excellent story! your writing style is really good I like how you bring in everyone's story. I truly believe that Reese would have been surprised at how many people came to honor him and his" Man in the Suit" persona. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderfully bittersweet tale with the rest of the POI fandom.
opheliablack chapter 8 . 4/5/2016
This was an awesome ending. I was hooked as soon as I read the summary. So many saves I remembered and a few I didn't, but I really liked how you handled it. I wondered about Bear during the second chapter and am glad to see he made it. And kinda sad and overwhelming to think of Fusco trying to carry on by himself. But I always thought it would have been smarter of The Machine to pull together Team Machines all over the country/world. And poor Grace even in the end she's left in the dark and wondering, with the unrealized tie of Bear as her last remaining link to Harold. Way to go. I'm definitely going to check out other things that you may have written. Thank you.
bissek chapter 8 . 4/5/2016
A couple things:

First, I doubt a criminal judge would refer to vehicular manslaughter as a minor traffic infraction. Minor traffic infractions wouldn't go to a judge at his level in the first place.

Second, Max had met Bear when she met Reese. Did she forget? And did every single person that had been helped by Reese after he acquired Bear (Not all of them saw the dog, but Leon and Fusco certainly did) forget to mention him, so that Max wouldn't make the connection?

I take it from the last line that Fusco has been recruited by the Machine? Does this mean that John and Harold succeeded in taking down Samaritan before they died?
elaine0510 chapter 8 . 4/5/2016
Such a sad but interesting story. Though he shouldn't, John would have been surprised at how many people remembered him so fondly.
