I Beams are not that heavy. A construction I-Beam made of solid steel that is 25 feet long, 1 foot tall, 1 foot wide, and 2 inches thick at the wall (the middle portion) would weigh about eighty pounds short of a ton. (1,920 lbs) Batman's estimation is way off and he is not one to generally overshoot that much in an estimation of materials he is aware of that are tried and tested.

Umm you've really nerfed Spidey's strength and durability by an insane amount. You should really see the Spidey respect threads.

Spider-Man Lifting, pushing, pulling and throwing Feats:
Supported the falling Daily Bugle building
Snapped a fire hydrant in two
Stopped a roller coaster train
Threw a car with several mindless ones on top of it
Buried in cement but digs out and rescues himself
Stopped a speeding van using a lightpole as a weapon
Swung a safe hard enough to crash a Rhino into the sidewalk
Crushed Morlun with a pick-up truck, shattering a concrete wall
Caught an armored car
Held down and shook a helicopter that was trying to fly away
Threw Punisher several hundred feet into the air
Pulled a truck with one hand
Threw a cargo train car
Bent and broke steel bars with a single hand
Broke steel cables
Smashed a one-inch thick steel door
Buckled three-inch of solid steel
Ripped apart Doc Ock's niobium-titanium arm
Swung several tons of debris
Supported a collapsing subway tunnel
Flipped over an APS
Spun a three-ton wrecking ball over his head
Pulled down a building with his webs
Lifted a subway car with a fraction of his strength (as stated by Spidey himself)
Held up a falling construction crane
Supported a private jet in its landing (Spidey estimated it had a landing weight between 175,000-215,000 pounds)

So A 5 ton support beam is nothing compared to all those feats and wouldn't even register to him.

Durability Feats:

Blunt force:
Man broke his hand punching him
Punisher doesn't hurt him with his punches
Stood up immediately after getting slammed onto a bus with enough force to buckle it
Punched against a stone pillar hard enough to break it
Survived being punched by Morlun through a concrete wall
Survived being zapped through a wall by Electro
Buried under a lot of debris and survives
Electro smashed several vehicles onto him and survived
Survived a lot of damage caused by Shocker's gauntlets
Survived being hit dozens of meters of distance through three walls
Kicked by Kangaroo who can kick through ten feet of concrete
Got stomped through the street by Goliath and gets up again
Smashed against the ground then thrown at a billboard by Venom and is still in the fight
Survives Shaker's vibrations throughout his entire body for over one minute. Shaker can shatter lead, steel and granite by vibrating.
Takes a punch from the Controller, who was drawing on the strength of over 400 women
Inside exploding building but gets up again
Takes an explosion equal to an M67 grenade
Survives a missile exploding at close range
Survives Rentry into Earth Atmosphere while falling a terminal velocity

Energy
Barely affected by electricity meant for traffic lights
In pain but otherwise ok from a power cable in a maintenance tunnel

Mental
Developed mental defense after years of dealing with mind-controllers
Resisted or is Immune to most chemicals, drugs, and toxins
Resisted knock out gas
Resisted a venom that should've paralyzed him for hours
Resisted drug that should've given him heart failure
Survived getting in contact with an acid so strong it dissolved a human in seconds

Endurance
Held his breath long enough to make the Trapster think he's dead
Held his breath long enough to swim back to the surface
Didn't sleep for days and is still swinging around after the Spider-Island events
96 hours without sleep and over 24 hours without food while fighting crime and helping citizens
Got shot by multiple bullets and swinging around minutes later
Kept fighting with his arm completely compressed
Kept fighting with a broken hand and broken ribs
Broke off of a cross after being crucified and tortured for an entire day
After being electrocuted by Electro, having several huge vehicles thrown at him, and being shot several times, he is still lucid and able to save himself from a fall
Was Nearly beaten to death by the Phoenix Five and still kept on going

"Healing Factor"
Recovered faster than anyone else from bee stings despite being stung the worst by Swarm
Healed his optic nerves at an "astonishing speed"
Healed from acid in his eyes after a single night of sleep
A broken arm healed in one night

So as you can see he has survived worst things than having some debris fall on him.

I am loving this story so far, I read it from start to finish nonstop and I love it, I hope Batgirl and Spidey can get together and that the next chapter will come soon, you are an amazing writer.

For your first story this is lightyears ahead of many other so called writers. just keep practicing, learn more, and don't get lazy and you'll be great

Will other members of the batfamily show up like Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood or other DC heroes? Just seems like Bruce and Babs are the only ones doing anything in Gotham. Just mentioning them will be good enough on where they are or doing.

Looks like the symbiote is coming *_*
