A lovely little slice of life fic. I enjoyed the focus on Anna and John's daily life and how the potentially mundane is never mundane to them at all. I really liked the way you linked the ending back with the beginning. I was expecting the former to just be a throwaway comment, so that was a nice surprise, and John's words in particular were simply gorgeous. The image of him pulling her closer because she was too far away is very cute indeed.

Simple, ordinary times with the Bateses, and I love it so much. I just love hearing all about their routines - of course, you had to start with sleepy Anna in the morning, wanting to stay in bed a little bit longer but being woken in the nicest possible way! And I also love how John is used to her in the morning, and they're used to each other after these years of marriage (that's still such an amazing thing). John being self-conscious, Anna being as much of a sweet talker - squee!

I love their time at the house, everything feels so natural. Loved the talk of having a night out to themselves - and then that lovely guest appearance! I really liked how everyone talked about the baby, even Mary in her typical way. A couple of scenes like that would be lovely. But aww, their time back at the cottage is the best. Their togetherness is so lovely and you write it so well. Waking up together in the middle of the night and saying four different but equally beautiful words to each other, just perfect.

Funny how John's dreams contain Molesley. Lady Mary and Anna sharing pregnancy tales is what I want to see in Series 6. I like how kind everyone is to Anna when she is expecting. Even Thomas' comments are on the lighter side. I really enjoy the look into Anna and John's lives as they anticipate the birth of their first child. Ordinary is their heaven after everything they have been through. Their love will only grow stronger with each passing day and you story shows just that. Thank you for sharing this with all of us!
