Hhoomph this. Chapter hit a bit hard. My dad died just over a month ago to a very advanced stage of cancer, which we’d found out about about two months-ish before he died so reading abt how something very similar happened to Dawn here, and the hospital bit.. It hit.

I do want to say this fic’s great so far though. The progression between these two is very natural, and you got the characterization down really well! Cant wait to read the rest :)

It was a great read, thank you for writing it. So many scenes where I'm smiling from all the cuteness... the pokemon interactions were so well written! I really liked the development on how Paul and Dawn lifted each other up. The event at Mt. Coronet was my favourite.

Beautifully written. I read this fic a couple years ago after you both announced its completion on tumblr. I've been a long time fan of yours and found myself in a Pokemon mood lately which inevitably lead to rereading this fic.

I remember back then, I was pretty neutral and on the fence regarding IkariShipping but I was and still am amazed by how natural you made the relationship between Paul and Dawn develop—all the while you stayed true to both of their characters (and I find that many people struggle with truly sinking into Paul's voice in fics and characters like Paul, for that matter).

I know you both are English majors or something like that, well I am too! And your prose is just so natural and amazing. Your descriptions are again, very natural and easy to read. I would love to reach that level of natural delivery you both have. I know I keep saying "natural" in this review, but that is truly how I feel about this fic. Your writing just flows beautifully and is very readable. I would love to read more of your works (Kelly's and/or Caroline's), so keep up the amazing work you two!

I remember reading this story first a couple years ago and loving it to bits back then. Years later as college student I stumble upon it again and think "hey! I remember loving this, but I don't remember much of the plot...maybe reading a chapter wouldn't hurt for nostalgia's sake." Long story short, I binge-read it all over again in two days. To paraphrase Elesa, I feel dizzy in the best way possible while I read this again, probably more so this time around since I caught small details I hadn't noticed back then.
I gush over the way Paul is written, along with his interactions with everyone. He tends to be written as someone cold and stoic. And though not to say he doesn't fit those traits, that's pretty much the extent of how he's normally written and thus he feels two-dimensional. You guys fleshed him out by writing his inner turmoil, what he DOESN'T voice and small gestures that show that he cares and listens. It makes him a surprisingly relatable character and I even found myself sympathizing with him a lot during the story.
Him and Dawn goes without saying, of course, but I also love his relationship with Reggie, Maylene and Joel - the last who can have all my money to buy as many plushies as he wants. His relationship with Dawn reminds me of a quote from Hayao Miyazaki explaining how loving someone is mutually inspiring each other. I think you guys portray this in Dawn and Paul's relationship. Dawn's also a badass. She's definitely someone who keeps him on his feet and isn't afraid to speak her mind, and he does the same for her. Gah! I'm giddy now. Gotta love a power couple.
I could continue raving for hours about Zoey and Candice, URSULA, Cynthia (Arceus I love her), Barry, Lucas... but like they said I gotta persevere and push forward to reach my goals asap. Ah it makes me so happy to have read this again. Hopefully you guys are doing good with school (or whatever you're doing now?). Thank you.

I can't believe I never saw this story before! I thought I had sifted through all the ikarishipping but I was wrong lol. this story was so good I found myself checking my scrollbar on the last chapter to see how much I had left because I didn't want it to end!

I can't even begin to describe how perfect this story is! You're stunning characterization really makes this feel like it could happen in the actual universe (provided they were to ever ag end me). This is one of the best Ikari fics i've ever read, I feel so blessed knowing this exists. Thank you so much for your hard work on this.

I read this a while back, but couldn't get around to reviewing it until now. This was beautifully written, and Dawn and Paul were characterized so well. I think the most thing I loved is the moments they passed in cafe, even if there wasn't many words between them, it was warm and sweet to see them share the same moment at the same place ! :3
