Reviews for Sons Of Storms
Kurlan Aank chapter 6 . 7/1/2016
A rather grand ending. Glad to see all these characters have some sort of happiness. Love the little bit about Ulfric about the Dark Elves. He still dislikes them, but tolerates them and the little part with him wanting advice from a known sympathetic ear from the elves definitely had me smiling. The part with Sofie and his gentleness with her had me grinning as well. A great end to a rather marvelous story.
Kurlan Aank chapter 5 . 7/1/2016
Another great chapter. The Battle for Solitude is a rather grand final to almost end a story. I have never fought the battle myself, so I do not know what happens when you reach Elenwen. I'm going to assume that she just flees before the fight happens, or this happens during the fight itself.

Quick use of the Thu'um and Ulfric is saved. Not bad Arven, you really are the man's friend and sworn shield.
Kurlan Aank chapter 4 . 7/1/2016
Changing of events is rather nice. I like the choice you added with the Civil War. I understand that the game likes linear quests, but since you have much more freedom, it would make sense to go around instead. The only reason it wouldn't is because not enough men are used in game.

Loved the little chat about the people of Skyrim themselves. Hopefully Ulfric manages to notice that and I would have to say thats another flaw in the game. You really can't direct Ulfric when it comes to stuff in his own cities. Things in the Grey Quarter do need to change and hopefully Ulfric is not really short sighted enough to just see that Skyrim does belong to (only) the Nords.
Kurlan Aank chapter 3 . 7/1/2016
Another great chapter. I like Ulfric's hesitance on accepting that his mind is slowly being changed by an elf and how he is slowly being turned away from such thoughts. The scene with Elenwen was amazing, I kinda forget how some can use the Voice unconsciously.

The little Thalmor dossier part was rather interesting since he provided another twist on the whole Ulfric is a asset thing. It actually does make sense, but then again, I had never looked at it from that point of view. Clever.

I can sympathize with Arvenrior's backstory, coming from two differ cultures and trying to figure out which one you want to stay with and which is better. His question with Ulfric had me grinning. Good to see that little bit. Can't wait to finish off the rest.
Kurlan Aank chapter 2 . 6/30/2016
Not bad of another chapter. The only thing that made me question what's going on is how your other Dragonborn know Lydia. If I remember correctly, some, or most of this connected in the same way. I like the distrust that the Nords display and the rebuttal that Arvenrior's anger and just a hint of his fury could be seen.
Kurlan Aank chapter 1 . 6/30/2016
Interesting like always. I just finished Passages and now that I think of it, I haven't reviewed that one at all... dammit. But back to this story, I like how you captured Ulfric. He is a rather complex character and writing him is rather hard, but you have brought him to life rather well. Can't wait to finish this story and see what else this Elf has to offer him.
StarWarsSkyrim51 chapter 6 . 6/3/2016
I liked the story.
Iduna's Apples chapter 6 . 1/30/2016
This story was so lovely and heartwarming! I've always wanted to see Ulfric deal with Elenwen, so I'm glad that was featured. Also, I gotta ask - did you write the song the Stormcloaks sing before the final battle yourself? If so - that's amazing! Great job :D
Speaker-to-Customers chapter 6 . 1/15/2016
Excellent story! You manage to make Ulfric come over as a sympathetic character - no mean achievement, when my own opinion of him is the same as that of Saerlund Law-Giver: "His cause may be true, but the man is a lie."
Guest chapter 6 . 12/29/2015
Thank you for this amazing story!
ShoutFinder chapter 6 . 11/2/2015
I think my heartstrings are in need of retuning...

This was an ending to trump all endings. Leaps forward in time, and families in the wake of war, and finally Skyrim can breathe in peace before the next great plunge into war. Sofie, daughter of Jund, the first poor guy we watch die every single time we try and make a new character...is a darling addition. Oh, and Barbas, FINALLY! I couldn't stop laughing when he finally opened his gob and announced in a spectacular manner to a speechless High King-to-be all Arven's thoughts in classic Barbas fashion. I had his voice going with all that dialogue and lord, what fun! :D
As were Arven's numerous attempts to shunt Barbas out the door.
'Woof.'

Melancholy as I can be, I do enjoy happy endings, and Arven's had a happy one...like J'shana, and Jeerala, and Ozan-ish, and...yep, I think those are the three I've read about before Arven, right? Or am I blatantly missing something out? Makes me think, how many of MY Dragonborn do I award a happy ending? ... ... ... D: How cruel I am.

I've been left with this lovely little image of a great big sharing-caring circle and for once a goodbye isn't painful. School's coming to its formal end for us seniors and we can get emotional sometimes...so thank you for writing such a wonderful tale and, once again, demonstrating how these novellas should be :)
AedricDaedra chapter 6 . 10/31/2015
Great ending, so Ulfric finally came around! A good and funny way of showing that too with Barbas. I think you managed quite well to show Ulfric becoming more tolerant to elves without making him seem out of character. In true Nordic fashion - make him see it as his duty, because Nords feel bound to uphold their responsibility.

So with Ulfric as High King and Arven in the companions, surely working his way up to Harbinger, and more of Skyrim becoming whole - all races, perhaps they'll be ready for anything the Thalmor throws in Tamriel's way. Or perhaps something will happen to avert their second war from happening in the first place?

I envy and respect your ability to write and complete so many stories! :P
Undeadmonkey8 chapter 6 . 10/31/2015
Aww, so much heartwarming stuff in this chapter! Also a great deal of hilarity, Barbas finally talking and Arven's attempts to get him to stop were awesome, as well as the impact they had on Ulfric. I'm glad you make him a more sympathetic character than the game does, it really brings him around as a person.

Great work!

Keep Writing, Keep Rocking!

Perfection.
Pietersielie chapter 6 . 10/31/2015
Hahaha, that Barbas is a piece of work, and you wrote him brilliantly! Highly entertaining! Thanks so much for a great story. Glad to see how Ulfric finally found some semblance of peace, even if it wasn't a complete redemption. Then again, he is human, and with his history... anything other than hatred was already a long shot. Thanks again!
