So, I just reread this story for the fifth time, and what else can I say that hasn't already been said? This story is amazing, a perfect blend of RWBY's anime-style and Lovecraft's reality bending horror.

Cthulhu feels properly threatening, less a villain and more of an unstoppable force of nature, Gnarly's in top form, the Elder Things and Shoggoth have their moments to shine, and overall, this is just an excellent blend of Mythos creatures.

Of course, the true beauty of the story is how everyone on Remnant is reacting to all of this. And predictably, it's soul-crushingly bleak. I love it for that. Though I have to ask, is Remnant actually Earth? And are the Ascended humans who had to directly deal with a previous re-awakening of Cthulhu?

I guess it doesn't matter. I'm kinda disappointed that this story won't continue, but as someone else said, as far as unfinished stories go, there are certainly worse places for it to end.

Well, as far as unplanned endings go this is a pretty good place to have stopped. The minor loose ends have been more or less tied up.

I'm a little sad that Ruby wasn't able to isolate Weiss' personally/essence/soul/whatever from Miriam. Team RWBY would have been together forever, or at least close to it as we can perceive. She could have really used the moral support, knowing her friends are always with her.

Well I gotta say. We have been seeing a lot of RWBY crossover stories of a hero appearing in the world of Remnant and using his great power to help the people of Remnant win the war against the grimm, Salem, the White Fang and what other problems Remnant has in the series. With some heroes having the power to do so single handedly.

That made me wonder if their was any stories of a villain with more power that RWBY characters being too low tier to be able to beat comes to Remnant without the presence of his hero counterpart being there to stop him leaving the RWBY characters all on their own with him. Weather that villain can take on the entire military of Atlas by himself or if the villain is an extinction level that can just swat away any Huntsmen like they are just specs of dust. Weather its a comic book or anime villain. It sounds like an interesting idea.

Though Cthuhlu isn't exactly a villain, he is the next best thing to that idea. I mean from what it is stated what Cthuhlu is capable of, he is something that RWBY characters just don't have the means at all to stand up to. Remnant already has its hands full with the grimm. But the grimm are just harmless domestic animals compared to something like Cthulhu or Godzilla. I've seen a story of Godzilla coming to Remnant and demolish a city in minutes and it affected the lives of everyone. Same with this creature that you used too.

However, instead of Cthulhu being the main focus of the story, you decided to have the story focus on how it affects RWBY's lives. And I gotta say, it had so much emotion. Not only are they up against something that is just simply beyond them to even try to fight, but eventually all they can do is just accept that they are not gonna save anyone and meet their ill fate.

Which brings us to specifically Ruby. I was actually surprised how you had her written in this story to the point where it seemed so heart broken to see her go from the cute, sweet innocent and cheerful girl that wanted nothing more to help people and make the world a better place to someone that is just losing her sanity and humanity to the point where she even forgets identity she falls too far down in a never ending abyss for her friends to try to bring back. She is not Ruby Rose anymore. She is either some crazy girl or a complete monster.

It was like take the light hearted mood of RWBY and turning it to a Hell Raiser tone. Even going so far as to killing off half of the characters. Sure Rooster Teeth killed off Pyrrha in the actual story but almost all writers seemed too afraid to go down that route and stick to it's regular story with an inserted character that doesn't do anything that alters the events of RWBY's canon story. You are awesome for being one of those writers that makes the story stray from the original events and create your own hypothetical route.

Their is just one plot hole that I have a problem with, how was Cinder, Roman and Neo able to sneak up on Ruby when her senses were boosted to super human levels?

Any great story.

Oh sh!t. When I saw the summary I knew this story was promising and something I had imagine back then about this crossover. The 1st chapter didn't dissapoint. Can't wait to read the rest ! :D
