I tried reviewing before, but for some reason was only able to produce the letter "e." I love this treatment of the Chelsea wedding night. It's frustrating and exciting all at once, and completely believable. Love that Carson was desperately worried about being able to perform, and how Elsie didn't know how to tell Charles exactly what she needed. I also like that Elsie didn't come magically this first time like she seems to in other fics. I like that Charles had to take care of her afterwards. Much more realistic.

As much as so much of this is INTENSELY FRUSTRATING, I'm glad you wrote it like this. He's so frightened of hurting her, of not pleasing her, and she just wants him, and neither of them can really say what they want. Thankfully, they finally do. I loved that line that she was about ready to give up, but she can't because her body won't let her. I love how he "presses the words into her skin". Hrggggggnnngggg. I laughed out loud when he said they didn't have to be quiet, because it's TRUE. I loved how he knows she's not...finished, for lack of a better word, and how willing he is to get her there. Attention to detail, well done. I loved how she laughed when she'd had her pleasure, and her adorable sleepiness. Sleeping goobers! Well done as ever!

I'm in the US and I should *not* be reading fanfiction about this season before I've seen it, but here I am anyway and I am so, so happy that I found this beautiful story! I rarely review because I'm all shy and anxious about it, but this is truly one of the loveliest things I've ever read.

I love how you portrayed the conflict between their desires, curiosities, anxieties and nerves, the way that they slowly and awkwardly (and, I assume, realistically) have to figure each other and the whole process out, and how everything ends up just so joyful and loving and *happy*... I honestly don't think there could be a better portrayal of Charles and Elsie's wedding night than this. It's absolutely perfect.

This is perfect. And very much IC. I love reading first kiss and wedding night fics but when writers have them going from 0 to 60 in 8 seconds it doesn't seem like our repressed Victorian characters that we love. You have captured them beautifully.
