I like the story

This is a great fic but Cardin seems to get away with everything... I hope Ozpin's reasons are clarified at some point.

This feels more like a glorification of Cardin's character. I don't see how this can be his road to amendment when nobody effectively calls him out on it as Cardin uses the "woe is me" excuse to rain hot justice on everyone's throat he doesn't agree with.

Sure Team RWBY and JNPR deserve to be called out on their actions but Winchester was way out of line and felt way too self righteous and indigenous.

Makes me wish he would really leave and see how he likes it in prison. He honestly seems like a guy who's all talk but doesn't lead by example. He should just do his job and stop moaning about how crap his life is.

You know what this story needs? Some antithesis to Cardin's blunt and vicious behavior. A character that embodies quite similar traits as the teen giant but prefers to take the quiet road of the journey and avoids conflict as much as possible. A person that has an obvious distaste for the man's actions but is pragmatic enough not to go doozie and woozie on him. Hell make the being a person who had gone a similar road like Cardin except with a more positive childhood challenge Cardin's claims of the horridnlife of the streets and point out that living in crap is a normal and awful occurrence , but acting like you deserve pay back cause vengeance? waste of time.

Maybe the second years like Coco, Fox or Yatsu could be that character. as it is now, Cardin's words steamroll everyones except for a few. I dont think he has met any verbal equal or greater near his age.

I love it this story is amazing it is well written its pacing is great the development of the characters are well done and completely believable and fit into the story. This has easily become one of my favourite stories ive read and i very much so hope you write more and more because i will be waiting to read each and every chapter that comes out.

I would note that Ozpin's "character" wasn't based off of Tywin, but rather his voice was based off of Charles Dance's performance in Got.

I've always thought Ozpin's performance was pretty slipshod, and he comes off like a man trying to be "whimsical", so RT didn't get that right either.

You actually made Cardin even more unsymphatical than in the original series. We get it you had a hard life, buhu, that still dont excuse your action you did now.
I dont care what shitty life you had, or how much life fucked you over, Cardin acting on the philosophie 'my life sucked so should yours'.
I actually have one such guy in my class at my career school, he alway bad mouthed everyone, disrespectfull. You know what happened to him? The whole class is now against him and he will probaply expelled by the end of the semester if he dont get a grip.
What I wanted to say is that if Cardin continue like this he will be the first one to be left to die because no one can stand him.

This is a decent attempt at expanding on a minor character. Cardin is honestly more of a two dimensional throw away character in canon, so seeing this fic go to the lengths of characterizing him more has been interesting to read. That being said, I honestly think he rants too much. Actually it seems to be a trend with a lot of characters. In fact, a very decent portion of this chapter was literally nothing but various characters ranting, scolding and delivering 'the reason you suck' speeches. While these do help shed some light on cardins point of view on things, it's already been made clear that he dislikes teams RWBY and JNPR at this point, so the whole thing honestly could have been a lot shorter while being no less impactful.

Ozpin scolding them afterward was well placed, and a unique take on his character compared to canon. However, after the sheer amount of time we spent watching Cardin tear both teams a new one and then having glynda tear him a new one, and then having cardin once again respond in kind and tear her a new one, it made the whole chapter seem more like just a series of rants at . That's my main bit of constructive criticism. Dial back the character ranting a bit, because too much of it will serve a dual effect of distracting from plot progression as well as making the characters seem whiny. Good luck on this one, it's headed down a good path so far.

Nice to see this story getting updated. I thought it was interesting seeing a funny situation have some serious consequences the show never covers. Most of the time stuff like that usually gets swept under the rug due to not being serious but I'm glad you showed some real life consequences in this story. I can understand Cardin being angry due to being an orphan and not wasting any food, especially good food mind you. What I don't understand is his rant on the teams? Since he wanted nothing to do with them why even talk with them in the first place. I can understand him telling them off on wasting food that took two weeks to prepare but he should have left it at that. I like this version of Ozpin because he actually acts like a faculty member by punishing them. Most of the time in the show he lets them off with a warning or a slap on the wrist which always bugged me on how he favoured them of all people. I'm looking forward to seeing what punishment he has for them. Never knew he was actually closer Tywin that the wizard of Oz they try to go for, learn something new everyday I guess?
