Ya know it’s funny. I’ve read this story so many times (it’s fantastic) and I realized that Riley doesn’t actually apologize to Maya. She says she’s going to be the bigger person and apologize but then all she does is justify her behavior. It was a nice touch and I felt it was keeping in character with Riley and how she would view things. I know there’s a Riley version of this also and it’s been a few years since you’ve posted anything but if you ever consider coming back it would be really interesting to see this story from Lucas’ point of view as well. Great story!

It's such a shame that you're not very active these days, but I hope someday you'll return.
This story really moved me and that doesn't happen very often. I loved the evolution of Maya and Lucas relationship.

Maya has always put Riley first so it's nice to see how in this fic she learns to do that with herself. And Lucas, I mean, we all love a sensual and kind Huckleberry!

Also, thanks for giving importance to Maya and Riley's friendship. I loved how realistic it seemed. They fight over a boy but they also portray the human sentiment of missing and not being able to live without that person close to you. I'm glad their friendship prevailed and how both of them learnt that they needed time apart to be themselves before starting to mend their friendship.

Now I'm dying to read Riley's point of view!

I love it! This is simply awesome. It's even better than the actual ending of gmw.
Also the friendship wedge thing, I get it. My best friend and I are also separating in a similar way without the entire boy thing in between. She's more Riley-ish while I am more on the Maya side.
But we haven't made up yet. I hope we make up soon.

this two stories were really amazing you really should see if you can write a story with lucas pov so that we can see what he taught and felt during that time. you should really give it some thought to because you are a fantastic writer and all your fans would be happy if you decide to do the story. if you do decide to do the story pls pm me so that i can root you on while you write an amazing story for us.

I absolutely love this story! Lucas and Maya...wow. I completely agree with Maya's thoughts. Riley is being selfish, and Maya is being the opposite. This kind of reminds me of Rose and Lissa from VA, their friendship: how they're best friends, how Rose is being all selfless and lies to protect Lissa. It's really the same. Lissa has this great family (well, they died in a car crash, but she's a Princess), Riley has a great family. Rose is shadow-kissed, reckless, sarcastic, just like Maya (except for the shadow-kissed part). Rose's mother is never around, her father left her, much like Maya (except Rose and Lissa weren't attracted to the same guy). It's quite amazing. Riley doesn't understand what Maya has done for her. I think you portrayed their friendship so well, and my god, the word count - but I couldn't stop reading this. It was just so amazing. Your stories, in general, are some of the best I've ever read. The portrayal of the characters, the way with your words, the humor - all of it. Wow... Standing ovation.
