I could picture them whisper fighting and it was fantastic. I'm so glad you wrote this.

I laughed over how you have Ellie leaping out of bed to deal with the potential threat with Alec taking his time, and that she grabs a cricket bat while he settles for his glasses. Hee, hee, even in the midst of a tense situation she takes the time to admire Alec's half-dressed form. ;-) The 'intruder' was very cute, and thank god it didn't turn out to be who they thought it was. I loved how he reassured her about Joe, that if he does surface at some point in the future then they'll deal with it. Awesome story!
