This is a great premise. There are some flaws (like being in a muggle morgue as a murder victim means you’re likely to be cut open for an autopsy), but I think it’s a great start to a larger story.

Your story has a good start and an interesting set of ideas. I like the house elf idea and love the idea of "everyone is truly free in America."
Would love to see this continued. The seed has been planted but what happens differently in the later years? That said it does hold up on its own as a two-shot.
I would ignore the last review. They say on their profile that they leave "scathing" reviews. That wasn't scathing it was downright hostile so just ignore it and keep on writing.
