Gary may be a obnoxious guy but there isn't any doubt that he is a good trainer that cares for his pokemons.
He is basically Blue after all the rival of the Great Red.

You know never understood why fans wanted Ash to have a Ralts is because the double type or because would be a good contrast with his Aura powers instead of picking Riolu?
Is Charmander a shiny or not?

Okay, I'm not sure if this fic is abandoned or not, seeing as it hasn't been updated for about 9 months or so, but you need to be careful when you're writing Dratini's progress.

As you probably know, Dratini evolves at L30 for the first time (from the games) and L55 into Dragonite. It also has the Slow Leveling curve, so ideally, you'd want to space out Dratini's growth in a manner that has it evolve into Dragonite very late, not midway through Ash's Kanto journey. Otherwise, having a pseudo-legendary dragon on his team by the time he wins his 5th/6th badge will make him OP - which might sound like a good idea on paper, but makes the rest of the story boring, unless you want to have Ash and team fighting Legends all the time - which is boring as well.

IMO, Dratini's growth would be ideally paced if he stays a Dratini until Charmander evolves into Charizard.

Ash was pretty pathetic here. Since when has Ash ever been scared of anybody? This is the kid who tried to punch out Mewtwo. Twice! And even a Lucario later on.

Huh, so while your Ash could maybe be considered smarter than canon, he's also a coward. LWhat a disappointment.
