I swear I've never cried on reading any story like I did with yours

I love how you captured their relationship in all of its trials and how Riza was willing to give up her happiness to help him achieve his lifetime goal. You even made Peter likable and understanding!

Aaaah, I really liked this. Riza would totally sacrifice her freedom if it meant preventing a war, but my heart was hurting so much for her. I somehow feel it was much harder on Roy than on her, and I was so sorry for him. I really enjoyed all the angst in the story, and I completely understand Roy being more angry at Peter for being a good guy, as they pointed out, out of fear of losing Riza. It's so much easier to hate a horrible person than someone who is very kind.
I was still unsure whether the ending would be happy or sad (I did have some hope for Peter choosing Rebecca instead), but the sudden way it happened was very surprising, pretty much a "wtf moment" for me. Grumman had to wait until the very last second to propose a different way? He couldn't have just tried to convince the Czar against the wedding in private, when he knew how much Roy and Riza were suffering? It was really unexpected, to the point it was almost funny for an angsty fic.
Either way I'm sooo relieved that Riza got to marry Roy. I'm happy they'll get to be happy together. The last few paragraphs were very sweet.

I had the pleasure of reading this a long time ago, I highly recommend reading this. If you enjoy your heart being ripped out and fed sugar then served on a platter... Hey it's perfect for you. Seriously read it, do you even have to ask?

If the marriage had been to someone in Amestris it would have been better. A Drachma arranged marriage just is silly, Hawkeye means nothing to them. You were going for feels, but its hard to get into this because of this.

This story was amzing: the perfect blend of heart wrenching angst, pinches of humor, and beautiful romance. Reading about Riza's struggles to do what she thought was best while wanting to (and sometimes actually) folllow her heart was an amazing expirence. This set agaisnt Roy's struggles to let what is most important to him go and his want for Riza to remain by his side are such perfectly tragic foils for each other. This piece is beautifully worded so we have a through description of the two star-crossed lovers' plight. The story was even more imporved by the sprinkles of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed Grumman's description of Amestris' current Furher as "the grass stained mess in the aisle". This has probaly become my new favorite Royai fic. Keep doing what you're doing, you are an amazing writer!

This is honestly one of my all time favorite fanfics now. I've just finished reading it for the second time, and the entire time, I was still on the edge of my seat and flailing all over. The way the story portrays how Roy and Riza are both coming to terms with the situation, and both slowly giving in to the impending wedding. Throughout the entire thing, I coyld feel exactly what Roy was, the word choice and just the way you described things mase iy feel like I could see everything happening right in front of build up to the climax was brilliant, and the ending had me almost crying tears of joy. Homestly, the story was so original and everyone stayed in character brilliantly. It's amazing how this made me both want to cry but by the end, laugh out of happiness. This review is probably getting long and really unorganized, but I just wanted to try and say how much I love this fic!

What happened to Olivier Armstrong, doesn't she outrank Roy Mustang and is single plus from a rich and powerful family? And why would the Czar want Riza Hawkeye to marry his son since FuhrerGrumman is not royalty just a high general who will die soon and someone else take his place? She's just some soldier after Grumman dies cause he doesn't pass his country to her.

Not only is this fanfic beautifully written with good grammar and decent pacing it's also emotionally exquisite i could feel my heart breaking the further i got and the conclusion couldn't have been more perfect and i was flooded with relief. i stumbled across a post on tumblr about this fic decided to give it a read, i am so glad i did. I think maybe at times the characters were a little OOC but in a way that made the story work. Can't wait to read some of your other works!

PS: i've decided this is my new headcannon in terms of how they ended up getting married.

AWWW! This plot was really interesting, and I thought everyone was really in character. The turn at the end was unexpected, but not unrealistic. I loved Grumman's role! Thanks for writing such a nice story!

Hey! So I'm glad I managed to have time to read all of this in one sitting! While reading, seeing the two pretty hurt over this broke my heart (you captured their emotions very well throughout). Those two man, haha. I'll admit I didn't expect that twist near the end there! Yeah, glad everything worked out in the end. Again, this is a very enjoyable read there and you should be proud!
