When the notification came I couldn't believe it ! I almost screamed with excitement XDD, I wasn't expecting it but I celebrated for the new chapter.

It's pretty quiet compared to the roller coaster ride the others were, but I loved the interaction you showed for Luff and Ace with their new friends. Ace Wolf-Dog (XD) was great, I laughed at the part where you said it took Marco and Thatch an hour to tell Izo things, and another hour to convince Ace to get out of the woods but you could still see each other his eyes, I imagined him as cats that hide in the dark or in the heights and watch you with suspicion XD. I'm glad that he trusted them more, with this fight he had with Luffy it would have been sad if he only wandered through the forest looking to get hurt to have some distraction, it is healthier for said distraction to be with other people who accept him and include him in the group even if you don't want to become human. A pretty nice gesture from Thatch and Marco, and I guess Izo from now on as well.

Sabo's dream, well, no doubt I'll tell him the king of creepy dreams. I think there was enough tension with the dream in which Luffy stabs Ace, and now another dream about Ace, but this time dying? I’m thinking you must be psychic. Just yesterday I was reading an old fanfic and thought about this one them bam! I get the update, just pure awesomeness. It was a fantastic chapter, I love it and looking forward to the next one.

Now, although I would like to leave a review in each chapter, I do not think it works well, I already read everything in one sitting and probably cannot separate well what each chapter touched.

In general lines I loved that you put Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper and Zoro to history, perhaps Nami, Usopp and Chopper are a little forgotten but by the context it is perfectly understandable. Will you also include Franky, Robin, Brook and Jinbei? I think they were an interesting bond for Luffy considering his trauma with hunters, it is good that despite that he does not fear all humans, and is a precious nod to the canon. But speaking of his trauma, I can't believe how thoughtless Dragon is ... or maybe if I can believe it, I don't know anymore, he's never been a great father but the fact that he never even realized that his men tortured his son under his nose ... I wonder what Makino saw him. How could he love his wife so much but never connect with Luffy? Wow, I read through this whole story in one day! In my defense I was stuck in bed with the flu, but still! Now, I'm torn and can't decide whether I want and update of Defenders or in this one. Ugh! See what you do with having two amazingly amazing stories? (I bet there's more, just haven't read them yet).
Anyway, on the story: I'm kinda confused as to who the hell this "lone wolf" is. You mentioned a tattooed hand and at first I did think it was Law, but then you made it clear it wasn't. So now I'm going through the characters of One Piece with tattoos and still can't figure it out! It has to be someone strong, so that he'd create a problem in the future, but still not too strong to just up and kidnap Luffy...nope, can't figure it out!
I'm kinda mad at both Ace and Sabo in the latest chapters, though I'm kinda inclined to leave Sabo off the hook after the last one.
But still I think everyone went way too easy on him on trying to kill Luffy and braining his blood with force and yes I'm even including himself in that, fainting and all. Like not even a small break down? Not a big heartfelt apology? Not a fear that it will happen again? Whatever Sabo.
About Ace...ugh...I love Ace and his relationship with Luffy and I like the whole possessive streak you've given him in this story, but it just pissed me off that he'd manhandle Luffy and even hurt him. That's abuse and he's wrong and unfair and it's kinda sad how Luffy really is messed up and just forgives them like that. I hope Ace feels bad. Like really bad. Also, Sabo is right and when you love someone you have to think of them and what they need first and it's been made clear that Luffy gets hurt all the time, with their current arrangement and there's no Devil Fruit in this story, for it not to matter as much.
Anyway, my small pet peeve is that even if the characters have complete different back stories, I still want them to be the characters I know. So, Ace lashing out because he won't let Luffy leave them is kinda against the character? Not that he jumped to the conclusion or that he fears it or even that he got mad, but Ace would think that Luffy would be better off without him, that was a vital part of his character; thinking everyone was better off without him, but maybe that will be explained it the next chapters. Also, Luffy can't be Luffy without freedom and adventure, so it also hits me as odd sometimes that he doesn't care much about it and all he wants is to just live with his brothers forever, in one place, no dream, no ambition. Then again as I said, maybe you have plans for all of that and these characters do have complete different back stories.
