I am VERY amazed that this came out before Infinity War, because DAMN, that is THE EXACT same thing (spoilers) as what Peter said to Iron Man before he... "flew away".

Great job 10 out of 10 for grammar 10 out of 10 for story 10 out of 10 overall only sidenote and I don't take points from it just mark it as AU

Last place for small edits, though only have to be Qrow semblance mention as it could be indicated Wiess father's side of the family could have built it and used Schee family's resources to secure it.

Second note it was the father that married into the Schieene family and ruined it, not the grandfather who founded the family to help miners and make Atlas great. But good job none the less.

May want to rewrite this chapter as Qrow does not control his semblance, which is bad luck. That is terribly unlucky. Though me know how to suppress his aura to lessen the effects so he would still be able to interact, just not for several minutes because suppress does not mean gone.

Followed this story from Flames of Atonement and I gotta say great job. It's like reading a political/espionage thriller with superpowers and sci-fi tech. Definitely making this a fave. Very looking forward to the direction Flames of Atonement will take now. :D
