I loved the destruction of the slaver caravan and settlement. They are very special scum who deserve Dragonfire up the wazzo. Bilbo helping Beorn and his people was great, much better start off for the shapeshifters. The way they did karma stealing from the greedy villagers was great! Bilbo meeting Ladonia and rescuing her eggs were literally heartwarming and I hope Ember gets to meet her and her hatchlings soon. Though if one of the hatchlings has decided to call Bilbo "Papa!" I can see Ember giving Bilbo a LOOK while Ladonia laughs.

It’s a rare LoTR fic that has a magic user as the protagonist. You do it well.

Ah, the beginning was so sweet it was a certainty something terrible was going to happen. But no matter how inevitable, it still hurts.

Seeing this updated was very pleasing. I've missed Bilbo's journey to find his dragon. I hope the next chapter is far easier than this one was. It was nice seeing Bilbo free slaves, deliver vengeance upon those villagers, help the mother dragon, and regain the draconic magic that had faded. The Bag of Holding is awesome, too. Now, on to the East!

I'd suggest changing its description though. I almost scrolled past because of the few reviews and fluffy descsription, and was extremely surprised by the depth and serious tone the story ended up getting. Would have read much sooner if I knew where it was going.
