I am curious that more primary technology and warfighting changes haven't been done, or at least seeded, by Shepard and her teams. They've already spread out heatsinks (now, hopefully there's also a belt cooler for them - disposable they should not be), they've spreading other tech, that's awesome - and buying Sirta, so there's both the Broker revenue stream and this new one - that's huge.

Honestly, the day of fighters/frigates and deadly missiles/Thanix cannons is here and now.

The Reapers carve through dreadnoghts nearly as easily as the carve through frigates, once they hit - you're better off splitting up your weapons systems and flat out planning for nearly every ship that gets hit to die. You get too close, you die. You get unlucky, you die - but the overall fleet needs to retain the ability to take shots at Reapers - especially down-the-throat shots, and that means lots of expendable platforms.

Because, let's face it, when the extinction of multiple entire spacefaring species are on the line, well... it's time to do what works, no matter how different.

I can see some ships built with the best of everything - like the SR-2 with full upgrades - but anything less and you're just wasting materials and time adding mass that slows the ship down and doesn't help it when it's hit.

Essentially, there's only three levels of armorshields that are valuable:
Nearly none - maximum speed and agility
Enough to stop a baby reaper shot at least once
Enough to stop a full size reaper shot at least once.

Antyhing in the middle- like most existing ships - is wasted. Until you can stop at least baby reaper shot, you're just losing speed and agility for no real gain.

I like how Bau's thinking - yes, long-haul colony ships that go dark and use true randomness in their course plotting, deliberately going AWAY from the relay network are absolutely the way to go.

Liveships in general, actually - planets are easy targets for Reapers to find.

Awesome job with getting Virgil specifically for the indoctrination detection - I wonder how the Citadel people passed... like the Council.

You've done a great job shifting around squadmates - watching their growth is great. You've absolutely showcased how much Liara's grown into a deadly combatant - I really hope you can find a spot to show Tali having done so as well, especially in front of someone from the Fleet.

She's killed more Geth personally than the entire rest of the Quarian race has in... well... quite a long time, and faced krogan, biotics, and every other kind of enemy. I get a huge kick out of seeing people gape at how smoothly she rolls through enemies with her shotgun.

Also, out of curiosity - did Tali have any input on the tech Shepard's releasing, tuning it? Does she get a share of the royalties? She may well be the richest Quarian alive!

I like how things are changing now, which is logical. Miranda's not at a point to see that the clone was braindead, so that works too, and it makes sense why she's trying to get Jack, given the biotics issues.

Good work with Shepard's Alliance file not matching reality :) - though I do hope Miranda can eventually recognize that she did, in fact, succeed and bring Shepard back as what she is now.

Vasir's done well, too - I wonder if she'll work out that the Shadow Broker title has changed hands.

Salarians totally would steal the stealth tech - it's absolutely up their alley.

This was well done - Jack was perfect, as was Joker.

Poor mech - that can't have been Vigil's chassis if a normal omnitool whacked it. Did Jack get one of her own?

This was great - finally a reason for Jack to deface the moon, and Jack - of all people- suggesting piracy is exactly what she'd do.

Man, this Tevos is a different sort. A screaming childish bint, not at all like the diplomat she is characterized as. Another reason why Shepard should've done the whole public reveal that the council sucks shit thing I talked about last review.

You know, the problem of the council seems to have a very simple solution in my eyes; Shepard record every conversation with them, every account of them blatantly ignoring her advice and suggestions and them being completely WRONG, and getting the testimonies of people like Vasir and Kirrahe, then releasing it into the public after the Citadel is attacked. After being recognized as the savior of the Citadel, the public would vilify the Council for failing so massively and acting like children and insulting Commander Shepard. They'd be replaced with more pliable and cooperative councilors by demand of the people, and now you're not fighting an impossible battle to get even the barest kinds of support.
Seriously, it's that bloody simple. If this version of Shepard already knew all that and made complex plans, why not include that as a backup? It seems incongruous for the character you've established thus far and seems like just an excuse to continue having them as a disruptive element.

Excellent story! :) I think this is actually the best Mass Effect rewrite I've found. Looking forward to finding out what Shepard has planned for her trip to Illium, and what next steps of prep they will be taking.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why Shepard hasn't had Shiala share the cipher with anyone else. At least Liara should be able to handle it mentally.
