Hi! Two years late to the party, here!
Let me just start by saying that I ADORE this story so much! Soul Eater is my number one but the fan base is so small and most of the work I find are either unpolished or unfinished. But THIS.
The fantasy-like setting is already something I adore, so pair it with my favorite anime and you've already got me hooked. Write the characters IN CHARACTER and you've got me sold.
I love how you were able to capture Maka's stubborn yet noble personality. Soul's witty, sarcastic, yet caring self. Black Star's boastful, yet scarred, yet also goodhearted character. And Kid's mystery, naivety, yet someone who is able to mature and grow into so much more than a kind hearted fool.
On the subject of ships, I'm over the moon. SoMa is one of my favorites, my original otp and you've captured them so well. Death/Star was a newer, foreign pairing to me since the last time I revisited Soul Eater, yet they have worked their way up to the top, even rivaling my love for SoMa. I love these two ships and I'm so, SO happy they were incorporated so beautifully into this story.
I'm happy you decided to focus this story around Maka, Soul, Black Star and Kid because as much as I love Tsubaki and the Thompsons, these four are my favorite and I always headcanon them being close friends. (Let me also take a moment to squeal about Maka and Black Star's relationship. The anime denied us what the manga offered and I'm happy it was incorporated some way into here!)

I've enjoyed this from the beginning and these latest two chapters are no exception. You've done a really nice job building the dynamic between the four main characters, and I love that they can part with the real wish and intent to see each other again.

My one complaint for this section is some of the off stage action. We have no idea what happens with Medusa and after how much she tortured the twins, we need some closure there-but the bigger question mark is how the fight with asura ended. Yes, we know he's dead, but the scene ends with Maka seemingly mortally wounded-and then suddenly she's alive and well as she shows up in the Arachne scene. It felt like a bit of a cheat.

The fact the off screen action left us wanting is a testament to the compelling story you've woven here, though. It's rich and complex and set in an intriguing world-your world building was great, and I loved the setting you unveiled as the action unfolded.

Finally, I'm so happy you didn't end it there and are including an epilogue. Can't wait to read the end!
