The character that you have woven for the guide in this fic feels so real. I love the way that you interjected some "guide advice" int he writing like GOSH that's what he'd do! It all feels so in-character and now I'm sad. . . excellent writing.

*deep breath* . . . Dude, you just straight up reminded me of my first playthrough. I was just starting and thought that when guide got killed, he won't come back. I fought so hard for every NPC! And then... The wall of flesh. I got SOOO freaking emotional while standing at the end of my hell bridge! No kidding, I gave a full speach! (And died like five times... shush, I was young at the time)

This fic straight up burst a water balloon made out of tears behind my eyelids. ;-; Dude, write more of that kind of stuff! It's awesome!

Of all the terraria fanfics Ive read, this is the most emotional. D;

D-damn. That was moving. Nice job. You took a relatively characterless NPC and gave him a personality, backstory, and all that good stuff. And you did a great job showing it off in a one shot

This was a well written farewell note, though considering who wrote to whom, it's not suprising at all. Reading this made me remember my own guide, and even almost tore a few tears from me, which shows just how well you did to make a strong, believable text.

The talking style sounds like the guide mostly, except for a few sections, though those OOC slips can happen to anyone in his situation. The other Town NPCs sound like themselves through description, too, if you understand my sentimental talk.

Anyway, I'm glad you took the time to write this down for us to read. Keep up the amazing work.

That's a very real and heartbreaking twist on a part of the game that players tend to overlook. We know what has to happen, and we've done it enough that we don't attach ourselves to the Guide.

I still call my new Guide by my first Guide's name (awkwaaard).
