Reviews for The Ishvalan Accords
Sherry Jackson chapter 17 . 5/29
This was... Simply beautiful. I couldn't stop reading. Everything was exactly on point. I wish the directors of FMA could incorporate this plotline as a sequel. I would've loved to watch this story as an anime as well. Wonderful. Awe-frekin-some. Amazing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to read it again in a few months. Thank you so much for this amazing fic. Writers like you make it all worth it being on . I'm so glad I could read it!.
Thank you.

This story is absolutely beautiful! The premise was so unusual and I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it, but once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Great job!

In all honesty? I put this story way down the list of stories I wanted to read even though I downloaded it. The Ishvalan AU just didn't quite feel right to me, as it would change a whole lot of things especially for the Elrics. I've been a fool. Such a stubborn fool.

This was beautiful beyond words. There's politics, and war maneuvering, drama, and a lot of messages for self-reflection and growth. And comedy and romance! I mean, it's usually hard to find balance in all those themes that authors tend to focus on one over the other, but this! This is magnificent! And you also got me hooked with all the OCs here, where I usually despise them taking the spotlight of the Canon characters. Fitzgerald grew on me. Hell, the elders were fun to read. And every perspective was written really well that it wasn't just about objectively seeing in someone's point of view just to move the whole story in a different narrative, but literally feeling what they did in that situation too. Alphonse's chapters were fun, as was Riza's- don't get me wrong, I adore everything in this story, they just stood out more which is saying a lot.

I loved how you incorporated the canon events of Winry and Ed's adorable confession, and how Alphonse wanted to learn medics alchemy. And it's funny that Roy's benched yet again before the main conflict resolves itself. His life is seemingly in that pattern, but I'm glad we get to see how people are actually connected to him and care for his miserable ass. Even Miles is cheering and Heridas hahahaha.

Most of all, you didn't stray from your main message to the story. I craved for good stories of Ishvalan Rebuilding taking place after the canon events, and this one definitely filled my hunger for it. But you did so much more than just introducing Ishvalan culture and digging deeper into it that it feels like an entire, realistic culture to be read. You made Ishval as a point of change for all the characters, and you did not stray from that when you wrapped things up. Every character here blossomed, and I loved it. I'm a sucker for character growth, damnit.

And I mentioned self-reflection right? Well, there's so many lessons to be taken here but I think the last one with Roy and Riza realising that choosing to be miserable isn't penance, is that one thing that nailed me right in the head. Reading that actually moved me, and that's a rare thing as I've been reading a whole lot of fanfictions for years now.

SO yes, long story short. I'm a fool for not even reading this earlier. This was a rare gem in the FMAB fandom, so thank you very much for this! Sending all the hugs and kudos!

Unlucky Alis chapter 17 . 6/21/2017
I really enjoyed this story. I've taken a look at a couple Ishvalan AUs so far, but they were all rewrites of the canon story where Ed's Ishvalan appearance had an influence on the events. I really like this version of the AU, and I loved all your OCs. Abra was definetly my favourite.

It was really well written, and the changing perspectives flowed nicely. The little details about Ishvalan society and how order 3066 was carried out were interesting and really added to the story. I especially like the idea that Ed and Al had a big family. You know, becomes the all died. The possibility that Mustang could have killed some of them, and the fact that we'll never know for sure, is a fantastic edition and I like the layer it brings to his and Ed's relationship.

Anyways! Fantastic story, if you do write a sequel, I will be reading it in a heartbeat

You've written such a fascinating version of this AU-and Ishvalan!Elric Bros AU is already pretty fascinating, so. I think you did a good job of keeping the characterization true to canon. And I just plain enjoyed reading this story!
