Simianpower chapter 41 . 2/23/2018
"I smiled slightly, at that. The idea was interesting. Contessa shifted slightly. So, she can even pick up on that, eh?"

Wrong. That's how Tattletale's power works. Contessa does NOT pick up on cues like that.

"It figures that Contessa knows what I'm doing. That is how her power works, after all. Gaining the knowledge she needs."

NO IT ISN'T! "Contessa's power allows her to see the steps she needs to take to succeed at nearly any given task and execute them perfectly." That's it. Most of the time she doesn't even know WHY she's taking steps, or what the words she's saying even mean. It doesn't make her Dinah, who can see futures. It doesn't make her Tattletale, who can extrapolate from minimal information. It doesn't work like Jack, who instinctively understands how to manipulate capes.

"There are options. A vial...

I raised my sword and pointed it at Contessa, eyes narrowed. "No, I thought not."

Again, NOT CONTESSA! She wouldn't even have said that. Honestly, you give her every other thinker power except the one she does have in canon. She knows what to say to get someone to do something, even if the words are in a language she doesn't know, and she doesn't make mistakes like that.

Man, do you ever SUCK at writing Thinkers. You glom all the powers of every Thinker in canon into each other one, and then misuse them anyway. I thought you were bad at Tattletale, but you're so much worse with the others. Goddamn, is it ever frustrating reading a fanfiction story written by someone who doesn't understand the source material.

I thought things would get better after that appalling S9 arc was over, but if anything the dumb is just piling up. I don't think I'm going to continue this story. It was around 7/10 material until S9, but it's down to 3/10 now and I don't see any path forward that would interest me.
Simianpower chapter 40 . 2/23/2018
Aaaand that's not how Crawler works. He has eyes all over EXPLICITLY so that he can't get snuck up on like that.

Aaaand that's not how Hatchet Face/Hackjob works. His power works in a radial fashion, not a cone. You nerfed it explicitly to further Mary Sue your Mary Sue because otherwise she'd lose.

Aaaand that's not how Alabaster works. His clothes are returned to just as pristine of a state as he is. It's why he dresses in white, to show that off.

Aaaand that's not how Contessa works. Her power returns a list of steps needed to accomplish a goal. It cannot be used to "get a grasp on" how someone changes, or to see outcomes (as it did in a prior chapter). That's Dinah. They're NOT the same.

Aaaand that's not how alliances work. You've written a perfect way to turn Taylor permanently against Cauldron. Not just indifferent, but actively working toward their destruction. Why? Because they offered her support and assistance, when she asked for it they denied her because it was too dangerous to put portals up near the Nine (a clearly bullshit answer), then after her (also bullshit) second trigger they put up portals near the Nine, thus proving that they lied in order to betray her. Why the ever-loving FUCK would she ever trust them again, given her already horrendous trust issues? Even if they saved her dad, they turned on her when she needed them, so whatever their reasons or behind-the-scenes actions, there's no way that most people would ever trust them again, let alone Taylor. This was stupid from the word go, and all to get her a second trigger that should never have happened. All to make her "more suitable" for the end... but did they ever think to ask if she'd help them, no matter how suitable she'd be? This could have made her eminently suitable for killing Scion, but also make her believe that humanity doesn't deserve to exist. Without her only anchor to humanity, and with 9 new psychos in her mind, she might just do Scion's job for him.

This, right here, is why I FUCKING HATE S9 arcs in fanon. They're so full of OOC and handwavy bullshit that they're never worth reading. And this one was worse than most due to misunderstanding or misrepresenting SO MANY canon elements that I wonder if the writer ever read past chapter 5 of canon. My opinion of this story has dropped significantly over the past 4-6 chapters. I was really liking it. Then the Nine arrived, and the author lost his shit in fanwankland.
