Another great story in the New Beginnings series! A part of me feels bad for Sirius, but on the other hand, he knows how dangerous Knockturn Alley is and deserved everything he got. Loved the sweet discussion with Mrs. Potter after. The love the Potters have for Sirius is very evident. :)

I loved this piece. After all the trouble Sirius caused and his punishment the way his mother reacted seemed like a powerful addition to the piece. I just loved it when she forgave him and said "go be a kid" but with the additional promise that he never do anything so silly again. Brilliant piece write on!

This is a wonderful story! I love it and have read it over and over. It was also posted on the day my nephew was born, so May 2nd was just a really wonderful day. :)

I enjoyed this story very much with thinking of how Sirius could have attached and function in a family. It makes me wish this is how it would have been.

Aww. Love Mrs Potter as well. Both "parents" showing their love and telling the errant child why the behaviour was wrong. Good to know that Sirius was loved by someone.

Aww! "Go, be a kid" - how times have changed! Back in their early teens, they were "kids". I remember being shocked when we got the school assignrment: "I am 15, I am not a child anymore". I still felt like a child. These days, they dress up as adults at the age of 12 and act insted if you keep calling them "kids".

Oh that had me bawling.

Mrs. Potter is a great mom. It is wonderful to see how much she loves her boys.

The point is, the original character was severely emotionally neglected as a child and that's why he never felt his life was worth something to anyone. It's why he was put in Askaban without trying to defend himself, hell, while he was incriminating himself (it's my fault"), he also went reckless and got killed because he valued his own life so little.
In your version he was younger when he went to the Potters and he felt the love and support of a real familt.
