Shirou started to acclimate to mantra and even see Yasha memories. Let's hope that they will teach him flaw of blindly following an ideal and willingness to sacrifice everything for it no matter how noble. Yasha never left his goal but he started to question what road to it is the best.

So Archer have give Shirou his arm like in canon. Correct me if I am wrong but here he wasn't mortally wounded so it was more heroic sacrifice and favor for Rin than pragmatic solution. Small thing but it have impressive emotional impact for me. It could be argued that lost of arm isn't lethal but Servant was on his last legs so it was straw that broke camel back.

Asura also used mantra of melancholy to fix him. From moment that Yasha make an appearance I understood that his affinity would fit Emiya perfectly. Guy can’t feel joy from anything except for helping people, his will to help others at his own expense make him worthy successor. Let's hope that memory from Archer and demigod will show him shortcomings of "sacrifice few to save many" and stop him from falling into this trap. If I remember canon correctly mantra caused demigods bodies to metalize. In canon Shirou already started to turn into swords so maybe here while he will lose human body he will get something functional in return.

It look like spider and Zouken are cooperating better than I expected. Saber alter is coming but I am more curious about "special surprises".

Overall good chapter that give me lots of hope for things will not be too similar to canon.

I would say that biggest argument against shipping Asura is complete lack of adequate women to ship him with.
All three knight classes, reinforced with spells and connected to enormous well of mana were only able to fight him evenly in based form, seems about right. The moment Asura equalized number of arms on both sides battle was over. Caster disbelief was beautiful sight.
So Chakravartin made his move and enrolled Zouken to help him. I am curious how this will turn out, for all his flaws self proclaimed god seems to be "man" of his word and he would deliver promised prize in case of success. Magus on the other hand are prideful, greedy and backstabbing lot so i doubt that this partnership will run smoothly.
Battle with Caster was sent to different from canon except for ending. It look like you are jumping from UBW to Heaven's Feel. In itself I don't think that it is bad decision, it would be a shame to leave Sakura plot unresolved but I am little worried that it may follow canon little too closely. For example more than only Saber Alter. While Shirou have lost his arm it doesn't look like Archer is mortally wounded so maybe it will be Asura that will be arm donor (he regrow them at the drop of the hat anyway).
Anyway I am curious of what you have in store for us.

If he named himself Asura then the other should assume that he is "that asura" from the mythology so I was confused on why Illya ask if his from the future.
