Yes, it's Maglor! Here, have a cookie. :D
Fortune Zyne chapter 16 . 3/29/2012
I have adored this story so far and I hope one day you continue it. I would love for Fëanor and his other sons to have somehow escaped. Also I don't think MAedhros would have ever been cruel to Elrond and Elros, considering how he left burying his younger brothers after the sack of Doriath to search for Elwing's brothers.

And yup I think I read somewhere they were 6 or something when they were taken in by MAglor who raised them to young adulthood then let them ago. IT also said love grew after between them. :)
Hallolo chapter 16 . 9/3/2011
Hello

I absolutely love this fic. The idea is great, and you write it with talent. I really appriciate your dedication to keeping this fic in accordance with Tolkien canon, despite how hard it may be, even for the smallest details (like the elves talking about the sun as feminine). I love the way the plot is going, really hope that this fic will one day be out of its hiatus, because in my opinion it deserves to be continued until the end.

Thank you for writing this fic so far, please update it someday (soon ?)

HaMalka HaLevana chapter 16 . 8/26/2010
Wow.

I found this fic at 'Celeborn, Lord of Lorien', and have been reading it for the last hours. I googled it to find wether there are more chapters, but it seems there aren't...

I LOVE this fic!

You write beautifully, and it actually makes sense.

I know it hasn't been updated since 2003, but please, I'd love to read the end of this fic, no matter how many chapters it takes.

:)

Cheers!

X meets the Matrix? Woot!

A point most people overlook with regards to Celeborn is that Tolkien considered him the 'wisest' of the elf lords at the time if the War of the Ring. Aragorn and company spent a great deal of time in discussion with him before leaving Lorien. I take it in his nature to be thoroughly well informed and connected even in the modern world. Though the spotlight has always been on his wife, I believe him to the shrewd calculated tactician behind many of the workings of the Sindar. He has after all been a prince of Doriath, leader of the survivors of Beleraid, commander of the Galadrim and Lord of Lothlorien.

I love your interludes by the way. They're a well deserved break from the tension you've been pilling up, and a nice way to set up character. Though I'm quite perturbed by you chosen coloring for Celebrian in the earlier chapters…which then turned silver in chap 16. You may want to look at that.

With regards to characterization, you've given good depth to just about everyone. You've also establish wonderful chemistry between the couples. The cast so far is well managed, however I'm starting to miss the others of Imladris; Erestor and Lindir for example. Did they perish in the breaking?

You might have already heard of this but I'd like to share a note with regards to elven Fea…though I keep forgetting what books I read these from. In one of his notes, Tolkien stated that the elven spirit is 'greater' than that of its encasement , such that at the point of death, their fea is so violently released that their bodies begin to dissipate just moments after death leaving only their clothes behind. This is probably the reason why he worded their death as "fading" or "fleeing to the Halls of Mandos". It is in the Mandos that they not only face healing and redemption, but also undergo the process of regaining a corporeal form. Also stated is that the Fea grows in time. The few elves that never left Arda for Aman came to the point that their Fea no longer needed a physical form to survive. They have become true immortals as free spirits invisible to everyone but a few musing poets and inquisitive children. -hence JRRT's take on nymph and fairy stories!

Hehe, sorry about that. Do I sound too much of a fantasy geek? I'm looking forward to your next update. Cheers!

Ok you've got me hooked. Your take on DagorDagorath took me by surprise. A small detail you might wanna look into about it, is that during the Great Battle all the great heroes will rise again, Mandos will empty, and it is Turin son of Hurin, the man whose suffered the most under Morgoth's reign who will strike the finishing blow. Check out the footnotes of the "Children of Hurrin" if you can get a copy.

Though I have yet to get to the latest chapter, I'd like to point out a few things you said in chapter 5 …If my memory serves me correctly (I haven’t had the Sillmarilion in my hands for sometime) the Vanyar are the golden ones (many believe Glorfindel to be at least half-Vanyar), the first of the eldar to reach Valinor. And yes, they are Manwe's favorites. Varda is Elbereth, the lady of the stars, not the weaver. All the elves adore her as it is her stars that they first gaze upon in their waking. The role of weaver goes to Nienna (?), the comfort to grief in Mandos' Halls.

With regards to Legolas' age and character, I think you'll find this article an interesting read.

I also found something about the twins…hehehe, research much? Sorry if this review sounds too academic.

Sedri chapter 16 . 11/29/2007
I pray you will still finish this fic, because it's one of the best Tolkien stories I know. Though I have read the Silmarillion several times, nothing sparked my interest in Maglor and such until I read this.

And even if you don't continue, you have my most sincere thanks for writing what is already here. I love it.

This is perhaps my favourite AU-futuristic Tolkien fic. I'm sad that you havent updated in a while. Please do! This has the makings of a true epic
TheOneKEA chapter 16 . 9/5/2007
What a fantastic story - viewpoints like these are uncommon in LOTR fan fiction.

The only bad thing is that this story is still unfinished - I first read it nearly four years ago and still cannot find a complete copy. Will it never be finished in all its glory?
Midnight Promise chapter 2 . 1/8/2007

Celebwen Telcontar chapter 3 . 10/12/2005
Gandalf was also called Incanus in the South, farther South than Gondor, I suppose, and Tharkun ( is over the u) by the Dwarves. Very good so far.
