Reviews for Fires Within
FranArian chapter 4 . 4/15/2019
Sooo...about that possible sequel? Yeah...figured a wee prod couldn't hurt. (Slipped it in on Chap 4 because it's the only one I hadn't reviewed in the past...fourth reading of the story too...)
NAPending chapter 5 . 12/6/2017
I just ADORED this story! It was a very good take on the Janto ship.
sandysan2013 chapter 5 . 10/12/2017
I love Owen in this story. You've given him just the right amount of sensitivity and audacity. Lovely Janto.
sandysan2013 chapter 5 . 12/26/2016
Excellent. I love it even more the second time around.
ukdramafan chapter 5 . 6/5/2016
Sorry for not commenting before, but once I started reading I had to read it all. It was very much an original story - the pyrokenesis was something I haven't read before, and even though hints of longevity and developing telepathy have been in other stories, it was the combination that was brand new. I loved their conversation about how Gwen's words and actions made the team feel, and its safety implications. That's something that hope happened, but should have seen in canon. Looking forward to the sequel.

Love the heart to heart chat between Owen and Ianto. Love that he told Tosh. Still would tell my worst enemy before I would tell Gwen. Looking forward to more in this universe.
workingsomecoffeemagic chapter 5 . 6/4/2016
Oh, this was a wonderful story! Just gorgeous! It was all I could have hoped for and I'm really looking forward to that sequel!
FranArian chapter 5 . 6/3/2016
Sequel? Yes, please!
malcolmlover chapter 4 . 6/1/2016
The Jack and Ianto scene was beautiful. Sorry that there will not be a scene between Jack and Gwen. I realize that you do not share the Gwen. I feel that she can not be redeemed until her disrespect for her teammates and boss is dealt with. Given her stubborn nature it is going tomtake more than talking to her and it will take more than once.
cjanegray chapter 5 . 6/3/2016
I loved this story, I loved the original idea of yours and I love, love how you write dialogue which is my favourite to read but must be the hardest to write well - which you do!

I really, really hope there is a sequel as this could be a very exciting story for Jack and Ianto.
BitterGrace01 chapter 5 . 6/3/2016
Glad to hear that this might be a series. I liked this one a lot and I'll be looking forward to wherever it goes from here!
Taamar chapter 5 . 6/2/2016
Yay! I've been hearing about this story for over a year, it's so exciting to see it actually take shape. And you know how I love a good post-meat confrontation! Of course, I'd have been OK with him setting Gwen on fire, or at least threatening.
Alice Carter chapter 5 . 6/2/2016
I always love it when Owen and Ianto have a good heart-to-heart. In spite of all the bluster and snark, he's a very good doctor, and really, a good friend. Your story is very optimistic that Jack will set Gwen straight. I hope so. In canon, he always seemed to be looking over his shoulder. It's who he is, but it doesn't make for an easy relationship. Ianto is completely in, even if he has nagging doubts. I prefer to think that he will succeed, though. They've both been through enough, they deserve some happiness. And a sequel. :)
veritas6.5 chapter 4 . 6/1/2016
I do trust Ianto's take on Gwen being a better agent if she can share information with Rhys, but I actually prefer Jack's point that he wants to keep her free of the taint of Torchwood. And, Canon Girl, it's plain that Jack is attracted to Gwen, and he will try to protect her the same way that, as their relationship continued, he tries to protect Ianto. Jack is multisexed and his desire is not bound by our mores. Gwen was new, a novelty for Jack, and Jack treasures her for her emotional responses, because the others have all had that burned out of them by their association with Torchwood, and aliens before that, and, and. Gwen flirts back to Jack, sure, but all the opprobrium directed at her by most of fandom because they see her as a threat to J/I, might best be directed at least in part, at Jack.
